The Super League Greece 2 ( el, Ελληνική Σούπερ Λίγκα 2) is the 28 team two-group second division of professional football in Greece, being a feeder-league to the top-level Super League usually played from September to May. History The league was founded in 2019, after the restructuring of the Greek football league championships, replacing the Football League (former Beta Ethniki) as the second level in the league pyramid. Twelve (12) clubs participated in the league's first season and second season of operation. For the third season (2021-2022) the league was restructured into a two-group league with thirty-two (32) clubs after the abolition of the third level Football League. Larissa (; el, Λάρισα, , ) is the capital and largest city of the Thessaly region in Greece. It is the fifth-most populous city in Greece with a population of 144,651 according to the 2011 census. Founded in 2021, it is the reserve team of PAOK, and currently plays in Super League Greece 2, holding its home matches at the Makedonikos Stadium. Makedonikos B.C. (Greek: Μακεδονικός K.A.E.) is a Greek professional basketball club. The club is located in Neapoli, Thessaloniki, Greece. The parent athletic club was founded in 1928, and the basketball department was founded in 1948. Makedonikos means " Macedonian" in Greek. History Makedonikos won the Greek A2 League, which is the second-tier league in Greece, in the years 2000 and 2002. Gymnasticos Syllogos Iraklis ( el, Γυμναστικός Σύλλογος Ηρακλής, en, Gymnastics Club Heracles), commonly referred to as Iraklis, is a Greek multi-sports club based in Thessaloniki. The club was founded in 1908 as "Macedonikos Gymnasticos Syllogos" (''Macedonian Gymnastics Club'') and is one of the oldest and most historic sports-clubs in Greece. It is named after Heracles, the mythical Greek demigod. Their colours are blue or cyan and white, inspired by the Greek flag.
