Alliance City School District
Alliance City Schools is a school district located in Stark County, Ohio, Stark County, Ohio, United States. There are three elementary schools containing grades 1–5, and one early learning school containing only pre-school and kindergarten, one middle school, and one high school. Alliance High School Alliance High School (Alliance, Ohio), Alliance High School is a public high school in Alliance, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Alliance City Schools district. The current facility is the third building to be known as Alliance High School. Currently it houses grades 9–12 with an enrollment of a thousand students. The sports teams for the high school are known as the Aviators in respect for the airplane production plants in the area in the 1920s. These included Taylorcraft and ArgoHess to name a few. Eastern Buckeye Conference
The Eastern Buckeye Conference is an OHSAA athletic league that began competition in the 2018–19 school year. The following are members: Members League history The idea for the Eastern Buckeye Conference began in December 2015 when seven of the eight Northeastern Buckeye Conference members (Alliance, Canton South, Carrollton, Marlington, Minverva, Salem, and West Branch) came together to discuss creating a new league that didn't include Louisville. Three other schools were also included in the discussions: South Range, Crestview, and Beaver Local. On February 4, 2016, the Northeastern Buckeye Conference voted to disband, and all conference members except for Louisville agreed to form a new league. On June 1, 2016, WKBN-TV 27 Youngstown reported that Alliance, Canton South, Carrollton, Marlington, Minerva, Salem and West Branch would form the Eastern Buckeye Conference for the 2018-2019 school year. Alliance High School is a public high school in Alliance, Ohio, United States. It is the only high school in the Alliance City School District. Athletic teams compete as the Alliance Aviators in the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a member of the Eastern Buckeye Conference. Alliance is a city in eastern Stark County, Ohio, United States. With a small district lying in adjacent Mahoning County, the city is approximately northeast of Canton, southwest of Youngstown and southeast of Cleveland. The population was 21,672 as of the 2020 census. Alliance was established in 1854 by combining three smaller communities. Jack Dyer Warner (born July 12, 1940) is an American former Major League Baseball relief pitcher. The native of Brandywine, West Virginia, had a nine-season professional baseball career. He threw and batted right-handed and was listed as tall and . Warner was signed by the Chicago Cubs as an amateur free agent in 1958 after graduation from Alliance (Ohio) High School. He appeared in parts of four MLB seasons for the Cubs from 1962 to 1965. He pitched in a total of 33 games for Chicago, with a career record of 0–2, 54innings pitched, 23 strikeouts, 13 games finished, no saves, and an ERA of 5.10. Leonard Ray Dawson (June 20, 1935 – August 24, 2022) was an American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) and American Football League (AFL) for 19 seasons, primarily with the Kansas City Chiefs franchise. After playing college football at Purdue, Dawson began his professional career with the NFL in 1957, spending three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers and two with the Cleveland Browns. He left the NFL in 1962 to sign with the AFL's Chiefs (then known as the Dallas Texans), where he spent the last 14 seasons of his career, and rejoined the NFL after the AFL–NFL merger.
