Allan Vainola (also known as Al Vainola, birth name Allan Annus; born 11 March 1965, in Tartu) is an Estonian singer, guitarist and composer. He is best known as the lead singer in such bands as Sõpruse Puiestee; Metro Luminal; Alumiinium, Sinu Sädelev Sõber; and as a guitarist in Vennaskond. Tartu
Tartu is the second largest city in Estonia after the Northern European country's political and financial capital, Tallinn. Tartu has a population of 91,407 (as of 2021). Kätlin Vainola
Kätlin Vainola (born 30 September 1978 in Tallinn) is a contemporary Estonian children’s writer and poet. She sometimes uses the pen name Marie Myrk. Biography Born in Tallinn, she spent her earliest years in the subdistrict of Kopli before the family moved to Põlva. The family later returned to Tallinn where she graduated from secondary school at the Pääsküla Gymnasium. Vainola graduated from Tallinn University in Estonian philology in 2002 and has worked as a teacher, project manager, and editor and has written lyrics for the bands Vennaskond and Sõpruse Puiestee. She currently works as the editor-in-chief of the children’s magazine ''Hea Laps''. Since 2014 she is a member of the Estonian Writers' Union. Vennaskond ( Estonian for ''Brotherhood'') is an Estonian punk rock band founded in 1984. The band has toured in Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Romania, Sweden, Germany, France, India, Poland and the United States (including CBGB). To show respect to the band, Metallica covered Vennaskond's hit song Insener Garini hüperboloid (Engineer Garin's Hyperboloid) in Estonia in front of a 60 000 strong crowd during their gig in Tartu, Estonia on 18 July 2019.
