Alja Kozorog
Alja Kozorog (born 17 December 1996) is a Slovenian slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2012. She is from Idrija pri Bači and trains with KK Soške Elektrarne. Alja is coached by 1992 Olympian Borut Javornik. Kozorog won a silver medal in the C1 team event at the 2020 European Championships in Prague. She also a silver medal in C1 team event at the 2017 U23 Euros in Hohenlimburg. Alja earned her best senior world championship result of 19th in the C1 event at the 2019 championships in La Seu d'Urgell, which secured Slovenia an Olympic quota. She finished in a career-best 4th place at the 2019 World Cup on her home course in Tacen. Kozorog finished in 12th place at the 2021 European Championships in Ivrea, ensuring her position at the delayed Games. 2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships
The 2019 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships were the 40th edition of the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships. The event took place from 24 to 29 September 2019 in La Seu d'Urgell, Spain under the auspices of International Canoe Federation (ICF). The events took place at the Segre Olympic Park which also hosted the canoe slalom events at the 1992 Summer Olympics. La Seu d'Urgell hosted the championships for the third time after previously hosting the event in 1999 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, 1999 and 2009 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships, 2009. As is traditional in a pre-Olympic year, the Championships also doubled as the primary Canoeing at the 2020 Summer Olympics – Qualification#Slalom, qualification event for Canoeing at the 2020 Summer Olympics#Slalom, the 2020 Summer Olympics. Canoeing At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Slalom C-1
The women's C-1 slalom canoeing event at the 2020 Summer Olympics took place on 28 and 29 July 2021 at the Kasai Canoe Slalom Course. 22 canoeists from 22 nations competed. The event was won by Jessica Fox from Australia, who already had three medals (one silver and two bronzes) in K-1 slalom from the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Olympics. Briton Mallory Franklin won silver, and German Andrea Herzog bronze. For both of them it was the first Olympic medal. Background This was the debut appearance of the event, replacing the men's C-2. Ivrea
Ivrea (; pms, Ivrèja ; ; lat, Eporedia) is a town and ''comune'' of the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Piedmont region of northwestern Italy. 2021 European Canoe Slalom Championships
The 2021 European Canoe Slalom Championships took place from 6 to 9 May 2021 in Ivrea, Italy under the auspices of the European Canoe Association (ECA). It was the 22nd edition of the competition. Ivrea hosted the event for the first time. The extreme canoe slalom events made their debut at the European Championships (formerly known as Extreme K1). Tacen Whitewater Course
The Tacen Whitewater Course is a venue for canoe and kayak slalom competition in Tacen, Slovenia, a suburb of Ljubljana. Located on the Sava River, eight kilometers northwest of the city center, it is known locally as Kayak Canoe Club Tacen ( sl, Kajak kanu klub Tacen). The course played an important role in development of the sport during the past six decades. In 1939, when its first competition was held, it was a natural rapid at the base of a dam in the Sava River. In 1990, after many upgrades, it was given a concrete channel and the features of a modern Olympic-style slalom course. The course now starts in the lake behind the dam, and the spillway is the first drop.
