Alfred Goulet
Alfred Goulet (June 5, 1875 – March 17, 1961) was a Canadian businessman and political figure in Ontario. He represented Russell in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1922 to 1923 and Russell in the House of Commons of Canada from 1925 to 1945 as a Liberal member. He was born in Wendover, Ontario in 1875, the son of Godfrey Goulet and Maximilienne Boyer, and studied at the University of Ottawa The University of Ottawa (french: Université d'Ottawa), often referred to as uOttawa or U of O, is a bilingual public research university in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Russell (Ontario Electoral District)
Russell was a federal electoral district in eastern Ontario, Canada, that was represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1867 to 1968. The federal riding was created by the British North America Act of 1867, and consisted initially of the County of Russell the townships of Gloucester and Osgoode in the county of Carleton. In 1903, the Rideau Ward of the city of Ottawa was added to the riding. In 1933, it was redefined to consist of the county of Russell and the part of the county of Carleton included in the township of Gloucester, excepting that part of the township of Gloucester included in the town of Eastview and the village of Rockcliffe Park. In 1947, it was expanded to include the town of Eastview in the township of Gloucester in the county of Carleton. Franco-Ontarians (french: Franco-Ontariens or if female, sometimes known as ''Ontarois'' and ''Ontaroises'') are Francophone Canadians that reside in the province of Ontario.
