Alfons Sampsted
Alfons Sampsted (born 6 April 1998) is an Icelandic professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Dutch club Twente. Club career Alfons started his career with local club Breiðablik in Kópavogur in 2015, playing a single cup game, before going on loan to Þór from Akureyri for the latter half of the season. In 2016, he played most of Breiðablik's games as they finished 6th in the 2016 Úrvalsdeild. In January 2017, he was transferred to Swedish club IFK Norrköping. He spent three seasons there without ever cementing his place, spending time on loan at IF Sylvia and Landskrona BoIS in Sweden and Breiðablik in Iceland. In February 2020, he joined Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt and was a key player in the 2020 season as the club won their first national title. Kópavogur
Kópavogur () is a town in Iceland that is the country's second largest municipality by population. It lies immediately south of Reykjavík and is part of the Capital Region. The 2016 Úrvalsdeild karla, also known as ''Pepsi-deild karla'' for sponsorship reasons, was the 105th season of top-flight Icelandic football. Twelve teams contested the league, including the defending champions FH, who won their seventh league title in 2015. The season started on 1 May 2016 and concluded on 1 October 2016. On 19 September 2016, Breiðablik drew 1–1 with ÍBV. This result meant FH clinched their 8th Icelandic title. Superettan
Superettan (; meaning the super first (division)) is an association football league and the second highest league in the league system of Swedish men's football. Contested by 16 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Allsvenskan and Division 1. Seasons run from April to October, with teams playing 30 matches each, totalling 240 matches in the season. The league was created in 2000. The second tier of Swedish football had previously consisted of a varying number of regionalized leagues operating under the Division 2 (1924–1986) and Division 1 (1987–1999) names. Competition format There are 16 clubs in Superettan. During the course of a season (starting in April and ending in October) each club plays the other twice, once at their home stadium and once at that of their opponents, for a total of 30 games. It was founded in 1924 and is the top tier of the Swedish football league system, operating on a system of promotion and relegation with Superettan. The Úrvalsdeild karla (, Men's Select Division) is the highest men's football league in Iceland. It has been played since 1912. Because of the harsh winters in Iceland, it is generally played in the spring and summer (May to September). It is governed by the Football Association of Iceland (KSI) and has 12 teams. By end of season 2015–2016, UEFA ranked the league No. 35 in Europe. From 27 April 2009, the league has had an active agreement on the league's name rights with Ölgerðin, the Icelandic franchisee for Pepsi. From the 2019 season onwards, the league is popularly referred to as Pepsi Max deildin (The Pepsi Max League). The clubs play each other home and away. Breiðablik Men's Football
The Breiðablik men's football team is the men's football department of the Breiðablik multi-sport club. It currently plays in the Besta deild karla, the top-tier men's football league in Iceland; they finished 1st in 2022. The team is based in Kópavogur, a short distance south of Reykjavik. History Breiðablik's first competitive match was played on 12 June 1957, a 1–0 loss against Þróttur Reykjavík. Rosenborg Ballklub, commonly referred to simply as Rosenborg () or RBK, is a Norwegian professional football club from Trondheim that plays in Eliteserien. The club has won a record 26 league titles, a shared record 12 Norwegian Football Cup titles and have played more UEFA matches than any other Norwegian team. RBK play their home games at the all-seater Lerkendal Stadion which has a capacity of 21,421. The club was founded as Odd in 1917 but were not allowed to play amateur league matches until 1928, when they took the present name.
