Alfi Kabiljo
Alfons 'Alfi' Kabiljo (; born 22 December 1935 in Zagreb, Croatia) is a Croatian composer and musician. He has been composing for over 60 years. During that time he has created an opus of more than 40 film and more than 100 episode soundtracks, eleven musicals, two musical films and two ballets. His musicals have been performed over 2000 times. He was taught music by the Croatian composer Rudolf Matz and later enrolled the Vatroslav Lisinski music school. Roger Samyn helped him brush up his composing skills. Although he received a degree on the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Zagreb, Alfi Kabiljo has never made use of it. He has spent most of his life in the Zagreb neighborhood of Šalata, although he stayed in Paris for a short while. Founded in 1995 and owned by photographer and journalist Ivo Pukanić, ''Nacional'' quickly gained a reputation for reporting and critical articles about the conservative government led by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), which was in power during the 1990s. During most of its existence its main rival was ''Globus'' published by Europapress Holding (EPH). ''Jalta, Jalta'' is a Croatian musical from 1971. Libretto for the musical was written by Milan Grgić, and the director is Vlado Štefančić. Author of the music is the Croatian composer Alfi Kabiljo. First performance was on 28 December 1971 in Zagreb at the theatre Komedija. Plot The musical takes place in Yalta, Ukraine, during the Yalta Conference, while Winston Churchill, Joseph Stalin and Franklin Roosevelt were dividing the world. Three valets have arrived to Yalta with them: the Russian, Griša; the American, Larry; and the British, Stanley. They were in charge of guarding and airing out of laundry for the Big Three. Vice Vukov
Vinko "Vice" Vukov (3 August 1936 – 24 September 2008) was a Croatian singer and politician. Biography Vukov was born in Šibenik. In 1959, he achieved instant fame by winning the Opatija Music Festival in his singing debut, with the song "Mirno teku rijeke" (). During the 1960s, he was one of the most popular singers in Yugoslavia, appearing at the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 with the song " Brodovi" () and at the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 with the song " Čežnja" (). In the aftermath of the 1971 Croatian Spring movement, he was branded a Croatian nationalist by Yugoslav authorities and had his apartment searched by the police during the 1972 wave of arrests of Croatian Spring leaders. Tereza Kesovija
Tereza Ana Kesovija (; born 3 October 1938) is an internationally acclaimed Croatian recording artist. She was one of the most recognizable figures on the music scene in former Yugoslavia, and is renowned for her wide vocal range and operatic style. She also had a successful career in France. She has held many concerts around the world, being one of the few Yugoslav musicians to have sold out shows in The Royal Albert Hall, L'Olympia and Carnegie Hall. Early life Kesovija was born in Dubrovnik and grew up in Konavle and Dubrovnik, where she got her early music education. She won a federal young musicians competition in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Ivo Robić
Ivo Robić (28 January 1923 – 9 March 2000) was a Croatian singer-songwriter. Domestic career Robić began his career as a soloist with the Radio Zagreb Orchestra, while studying at the same time in Zagreb. He performed during World War II on "Krugovalna postaja Zagreb" in an Esplanade hotel in Zagreb, Independent State of Croatia. During his career in what was then Socialist Republic of Croatia, he made more than one hundred records, mostly singles and ''schlagers''. Ivan Kušan
Ivan Kušan (30 August 1933 – 20 November 2012) was a Croatian writer. Kušan was born in Sarajevo, Kingdom of Yugoslavia to the family of Jakša Kušan, a bookstore owner. The family moved to Zagreb in 1939. At the age of ten Ivan discovered his writing talent and wrote his first novel. Later, Kušan discovered a taste for world travel and visual arts. In the 1950s he worked on Radio Zagreb. From 1980 to 1994 he taught at the Drama Arts Academy of University of Zagreb. He published his first book in 1956. His specialty became children's novels, and some of them, like ''Lažeš, Melita'' and ''Koko u Parizu'', became very popular.
