Alessandro Puzar
Alessandro "Alex" Puzar (born 19 November 1968) is an Italian former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1988 to 2009. Puzar is notable for being a two-time motocross world champion. Biography Puzar began his motocross Grand Prix career in 1988 riding a KTM. He was the 1990 F.I.M. world champion in the 250cc class on a Suzuki. In 1995 he won the 125cc motocross world championship on a Honda. Motocross
Motocross is a form of off-road motorcycle racing held on enclosed off-road circuits. The sport evolved from motorcycle trials competitions held in the United Kingdom. History Motocross first evolved in Britain from motorcycle trials competitions, such as the Auto-Cycle Clubs's first quarterly trial in 1909 and the Scottish Six Days Trial that began in 1912. When organisers dispensed with delicate balancing and strict scoring of trials in favour of a race to become the fastest rider to the finish, the activity became known as "hare scrambles", said to have originated in the phrase, "a rare old scramble" describing one such early race. Motocross World Championship
FIM Motocross World Championship is the premier championship of motocross racing, organized by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM), divided into two distinct classes: MXGP and MX2. Race duration is 30 minutes plus two laps per race. The series runs 18 events with two races per class at each round. History The FIM Motocross World Championship is a worldwide motocross series sanctioned by the F.I.M. It was inaugurated in 1957 using a 500 cc engine displacement formula. In 1962 a 250cc class was added and in 1975, a 125cc class was introduced. Prior to 1957, the championship was known as the European Championship. In 2004, the F.I.M. changed the displacement formulas to reflect the changes in engine technology and as a move towards environmentally friendlier four-stroke engines. The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM; en, International Motorcycling Federation) is the global governing/sanctioning body of motorcycle racing. It represents 116 national motorcycle federations that are divided into six regional continental unions. Andrea Bartolini (born November 1968) is an Italian former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1988 to 2003. Bartolini is notable for winning the 1999 500cc motocross world championship. Motocross racing career Born in Imola, Italy, Bartolini competed for the Yamaha motocross team run by former world champion Michele Rinaldi. Alessio Chiodi
Alessio Chiodi (born 17 March 1973 in Salò) is an Italian former professional motocross racer. He competed in the Motocross World Championships from 1993 to 2009. Chiodi is notable for winning three consecutive FIM 125cc motocross world championships. Biography In 1993 Chiodi finished eighth in the 125cc motocross world championship. The following year he improved to second in the 125cc motocross world championship, 48 points behind Bobby Moore. He repeated his second place result in the 1995 125cc motocross world championship, this time by only three points to fellow Italian Alessandro Puzar. Chiodi moved to the 250cc motocross world championship for the 1996 season where he finished the season in 16th place.
