Aleksandra Smiljanić ( sr-cyr, Александра Смиљанић; born 12 June 1970) was the Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technologies in the Government of Serbia from 2007 to 2008. Education and career Aleksandra Smiljanić was born in Belgrade in 1970. After competing secondary education at Matematička gimnazija, she graduated at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Electrical Engineering. Later she received her M.A. and Ph.D. degrees at Princeton University in 1996 and 1999 respectively. Vladana Likar-Smiljanić ( sr-cyr, Владана Ликар-Смиљанић; born 18 July 1943, Belgrade) is the Serbian engineer, educator and book illustrator and writer. In the former Yugoslavia, Likar-Smiljanić illustrated children's books that were sold in hundreds thousands of copies. Her books were sold also in Spain, Italy, the United States, Germany, the Soviet Union. Originally, she became well known for her page “Cica’s Corner” in a popular Yugoslav magazine for entertainment Politikin Zabavnik. Her first illustrations appeared in ''The Treasury of Children's Poems'' by Jova Jovanović Zmaj. After her successful debut, Likar-Smiljanić illustrated more than twenty books, that were almost as popular as her first book.
