Shellbrook (electoral District)
Shellbrook was a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of the province of Saskatchewan, Canada, in the area of Shellbrook, Saskatchewan, west of Prince Albert. Created as "Prince Albert" before the 1st Saskatchewan general election in 1905, this constituency was redrawn and renamed "Shellbrook" in 1912. The riding was again redrawn and renamed "Shellbrook-Torch River" in 1982, and abolished before the 23rd Saskatchewan general election in 1995 into Shellbrook-Spiritwood and Saskatchewan Rivers. Shellbrook-Spiritwood existed from 1995 to 2003. The former Shellbrook riding is now part of the districts of Rosthern-Shellbrook and Saskatchewan Rivers. Legislative Assembly Of Saskatchewan
The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. Guy Franklin Van Eaton
Guy Franklin Van Eaton (August 20, 1878 – January 9, 1950) was an American-born farmer and politician in Saskatchewan, Canada. He represented Shellbrook from 1945 to 1948 in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan as a Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF) member. He was born in Iowa, grew up in South Dakota and continued his education in Tacoma, Washington. He married Anna Flavel Van Eaton in 1910 and came to Canada in 1916, settling near Vanscoy, Saskatchewan.
