Al Rufaa ( ar, الرفاع) is a neighborhood of Doha, Qatar. Qatar
Qatar (, ; ar, قطر, Qaṭar ; local vernacular pronunciation: ), officially the State of Qatar,) is a country in Western Asia. Municipalities Of Qatar
Since 2015, Qatar has been divided into eight municipalities. In 2004, a new municipality, Al Daayen, was created under Resolution No. 13, formed from parts of Umm Salal and Al Khawr; at the same time, Al Ghuwariyah was merged with Al Khawr; Al Jumaliyah was merged with Ar Rayyan; Jarayan al Batnah was split between Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah; and Mesaieed was merged with Al Wakrah. In 2014, the western city of Al-Shahaniya split off from Al Rayyan Municipality to form its own municipality. Ad-Dawhah ( ar, الدوحة, ' or ''ad-Dōḥa'', ) is the one of the eight municipalities of Qatar. Zones Of Qatar
In the administrative divisions of Qatar, zones are the second-highest level of government after municipalities of Qatar, municipalities. As of the 2015 census, there were 98 zones. However, several of these zones are not currently in use. Over the years, numerous changes in zones have taken place. For instance, in the 2010 census, Zone 69 was transferred to Al Daayen Municipality, Zones 50 and 58 were added to Ad-Dawhah (municipality), Ad-Dawhah Municipality, and part of Zone 74 was merged with Zone 70 of Al Daayen Municipality. Old Al Hitmi
Old Al Hitmi ( ar, الهتمي العتيق; also known as Al-Hitmi Al-Ateeq or simply Al Hitmi) is a mixed-use district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. The name is derived from Al-Hitmi family, which is a branch of the main Al Bin Ali tribe. Together with Al Rufaa, it forms Zone 17, which has a population of 6,028. History The district was first settled around 1930 by the Al Hitmi family, a branch of the Al Bin Ali tribe. Most residential units here date back to the early-to-mid 20th century. As a result of many years of neglect, most of the older buildings have fallen into varying states of disrepair. After Qatar began profiting from oil extraction in the 1970s and 1980s, many modernistic high-rise buildings were constructed. As Salatah
As Salatah ( ar, اسلطة; also known as Old Al Salata) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. It is primarily a commercial district and is situated near Hamad International Airport. In the 1970s, as part of a master plan for Doha prepared by Llewelyn Davies, the whole district was redeveloped in a push to modernize the cityscape. The Civil Aviation Authority and the National Museum of Qatar are located in the district. History The district was named after the Sulaiti tribe, who owned large plots of land in the area. Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani selected the area as the seat of government in the early 1900s due to its close proximity to the sea and ease of access for vessels. Al Mirqab ( ar, المرقاب; also referred to as Fereej Al Mirqab) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipalities of Qatar, municipality of Ad-Dawhah (municipality), Ad Dawhah. Umm Ghuwailina
Umm Ghuwailina ( ar, أم غويلينة, Umm Ghuwaylīnah) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Ad Dawhah. Etymology The first word of Umm Ghuwailina is Arabic for "mother" and is used as a prefix to denote a geographic feature, while ''ghuwailina'' is a derivative of the name of a tree known locally as "ghulan". Hence, the area's name translates literally to "the mother of ghulan". The tree held local significance for its use as camel fodder.
