Al-Duhail SC (handball)
Al Duhail Handball Team ( ar, فريق الدحيل لكرة اليد), formerly Lekhwiya, is the handball team of Al-Duhail SC, based in the capital city of Doha, Qatar. It currently competes in the Qatar Handball League (QHL) and was founded in 2013. It plays its home games at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. History The idea to form Lekhwiya's handball division began in April 2012 when the Qatar Handball Federation wanted to increase the number of teams participating in the league. Lekhwiya were presented with an opportunity to form a handball team and participate in the first division, and the president of the club, Abdullah Al Thani, accepted. Jabbes Ibrahim was selected as the first coach of the team. In April 2017, the club took over El Jaish SC and rebranded the club into Al-Duhail SC. Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium
The Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, formerly known as Duhail Stadium, is a football stadium in Doha, Qatar. History The construction of the stadium was set in 2011 and completed by February 2013. The first phase was completed in May 2012. The stadium was officially inaugurated on 15 February 2013 with the first match taking place in the stadium being a Qatar Stars League fixture with the home team Lekhwiya facing off against Al Khor. The official capacity is 9,000 people, and the stadium is located within the complex of the Internal Security Forces in the Duhail district of the capital Doha. The entry process of the spectators is secured through 25 gates around the stadium. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. Al-Duhail Sports Club ( ar, نادي الدحيل الرياضي), formerly Lekhwiya SC, is a Qatari sports club, best known for its football team, which plays in the Qatar Stars League. El Jaish Handball Team ( ar, فريق الجيش كرة اليد) was the handball team of El Jaish SC, a multisport club based in the Al-Duhail area of Doha, Qatar. Sead Hasanefendić (born 1 August 1948) is a Croatian handball coach who is the head coach of ThSV Eisenach. He is of Bosnian descent. Playing career Hasanefendić first hesitated between football and handball. At the age of 18, his parents left Novi Sad for Zagreb, where he again played handball. In 1969, he discovered France and returned there to learn the language. Contacted by AS Cannes while playing in Zagreb, he joined the French Riviera club in 1971.
