Aki Yerushalayim
''Aki Yerushalayim'' (; meaning 'Here Jerusalem') is an Israeli magazine in Judaeo-Spanish (Ladino) published in print two to three times a year between 1979 and 2016, and exclusively online since 2019. History ''Aki Yerushalayim'' began released its first issue on April 4, 1979. It was the main periodical published in Judeo-Spanish, published alongside the Turkish newspaper ''Şalom''. The aim of ''Aki Yerushalayim'' was to ensure the preservation and diffusion of Ladino and Sephardic culture. The magazine was jointly published by the Sefarad Association and the Autoridad Nasionala del Ladino, the Ladino regulator. Its director was Moshe Shaul, who had served as an editor since the first issue. The magazine had an online edition as well, which continued in 2019 after the magazine ceased to operate with a print edition in 2016. Moshe Shaul
Moshe Shaul (24 May 1929 – 1 April 2023), also known as Mosheh Sha'ul, was a Turkish-born Israeli journalist, writer and researcher of the culture of Sephardi Jews who worked on preserving the Ladino language. Biography Shaul was born in İzmir, Turkey on 24 May 1929. He made aliyah to Israel in 1949. After migrating to Israel he began attending Hebrew University in 1954, attaining degrees in Sociology and Political Science in 1959. That same year he would join the Ladino broadcast of La Bos de Israel, a subsidiary of Kol Yisrael based in Jerusalem, and in 1977 he would take charge of it after the death of its director, Yitzhak Levy. Shaul served as editor for ''Aki Yerushalayim'' during their first issue which was released in 4 April 1979 and continued this role for their 37 years of operation. ''Şalom'' is a Jewish weekly newspaper published in Turkey. Its name is the Turkish spelling of the Hebrew word (''Shalom''). It was established on 29 October 1947 by the Turkish Jewish journalist Avram Leyon. It is printed in Istanbul and is published every Wednesday. Apart from one Ladino page, it is published in Turkish. Autoridad Nasionala Del Ladino
Autoridad Nasionala del Ladino (, "National Authority of Ladino") is a national Israeli organisation created in 1997 with the goal of preserving and safeguarding Judaeo-Spanish, commonly known as ''Ladino''. The authority was established in the wake of a law passed by the Knesset on 3 March 1996. It publishes the Ladino magazine ''Aki Yerushalayim'' for the Sephardi community in Israel and the diaspora. The first chairman of the board was the fifth president of Israel, Yitzhak Navon. The vice-president and editor-in-chief of ''Aki Yerushalayim'' is Moshe Shaul.
