Aiginio
Aiginio (), known before 1926 as ''Libanovo'' (), is a town and a former municipality in Pieria regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pydna-Kolindros, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 75.541 km2, the community 62.246 km2. The population of the municipal unit was 4,869 people and the population of the community was 4,345 people as of 2011. Transport Aiginio is served by a railway station, which is served by Proastiakos. Municipal unit The municipal unit of Aiginio consists of the settlements of Aiginio (population 4,153), Megali Gefyra (population 192) and Katachas (population 524). Aiginio and Megali Gefyra constitute the community of Aiginio while Katachas is the other community of the municipal unit. Aiginio Railway Station
Aiginio railway station ( el, Σιδηροδρομικός σταθμός Αιγίνιο, Sidirodromikos stathmos Aiginio) is a railway station in Korinos, Central Macedonia, Greece. Located in a residential area east of the centre of the town, it opened in 2000. It is served by regional trains between Thessaloniki, Kalambaka, Palaiofarsalos and by the Suburban services for Thessaloniki, Litochoro and Larissa. Pieria (regional Unit)
Pieria ( el, Πιερία) is one of the regional units of Greece located in the southern part of the Region of Central Macedonia, within the historical province of Macedonia. Its capital is the town of Katerini.The name Pieria originates from the ancient Pieres tribe. In Pieria, there are many sites of archeological interest, such as Dion, Pydna, Leivithra and Platamonas. Pieria contains Mount Pierus, from which Hermes takes flight in order to visit Calypso, and is the home of Orpheus, the Muses, and contains the Pierian Spring. Proastiakos Thessaloniki
Proastiakos Thessaloniki, or Thessaloniki Suburban Railway ( el, Προαστιακός Σιδηρόδρομος Θεσσαλονίκης, ), is a three-line Proastiakos commuter rail service connecting Thessaloniki's New Railway Station with Edessa/Florina, Larissa and Serres. It is operated using Siemens Desiro multiple units ran by the TrainOSE, the passenger railway subsidiary of the Hellenic Railways Organisation. Central Macedonia ( el, Κεντρική Μακεδονία, Kentrikí Makedonía, ) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece, consisting of the central part of the geographical and historical region of Macedonia.
