Megali Gefyra ( el, Μεγάλη Γέφυρα, bg, Милово, mk, Милово) is a village of the Pydna-Kolindros municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality of Aiginio. The 2011 census recorded 192 residents in the village. Central Macedonia
Central Macedonia ( el, Κεντρική Μακεδονία, Kentrikí Makedonía, ) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece, consisting of the central part of the geographical and historical region of Macedonia. With a population of almost 1.8 million, it is the second most populous in Greece after Attica. Geography The region of Central Macedonia is situated in northern Greece, bordering with the regions of Western Macedonia (west), Thessaly (south), Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (east), and bounded to the north at the international borders of Greece with Republic of North Macedonia and Bulgaria. Pieria (regional Unit)
Pieria ( el, Πιερία) is one of the regional units of Greece located in the southern part of the Region of Central Macedonia, within the historical province of Macedonia. Its capital is the town of Katerini.The name Pieria originates from the ancient Pieres tribe. In Pieria, there are many sites of archeological interest, such as Dion, Pydna, Leivithra and Platamonas. Pieria contains Mount Pierus, from which Hermes takes flight in order to visit Calypso, and is the home of Orpheus, the Muses, and contains the Pierian Spring. Aiginio
Aiginio (), known before 1926 as ''Libanovo'' (), is a town and a former municipality in Pieria regional unit, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Pydna-Kolindros, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 75.541 km2, the community 62.246 km2. The population of the municipal unit was 4,869 people and the population of the community was 4,345 people as of 2011. Transport Aiginio is served by a railway station, which is served by Proastiakos. Municipal unit The municipal unit of Aiginio consists of the settlements of Aiginio (population 4,153), Megali Gefyra (population 192) and Katachas (population 524).
