Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul
Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul (1 January 1956 – 22 January 2019) was a Bangladeshi lyricist, composer and music director, active since the late 1970s. He was a freedom fighter who joined the Bangladesh Liberation War at the age of 15. He won Ekushey Padak and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Music Director twice for the films ''Premer Taj Mahal'' (2001) and ''Hajar Bachhor Dhore'' (2005). Early life Bulbul was born on 1 January 1956 in Dhaka. He studied at West End High School in Azimpur, Dhaka. Career Bulbul's compositions include a number of works for films, beginning with 1978's ''Megh Bijli Badol''. He has also released independent albums and created works for a number of Bangladeshi performers, including Samina Chowdhury and Andrew Kishore. Idris Ali (born 24 December 1956; known by his stage name Ilias Kanchan) is a Bangladeshi actor and activist. He appeared in more than 350 films during the 1980s and 1990s. Anju Ghosh is a Bangladeshi and Indian (Tollywood) film actress. She is notable for her role in the film ''Beder Meye Josna'' (''Josna, The Gypsey Daughter'') in 1989. Career Ghosh debuted in film acting through her role in Soudagor (1982), directed by F. Kabir Chowdhury. Ghosh acted in around 50 films. Mesbahuddin Ahmed (23 March 1947 – 18 April 2021), known by his stage name Wasim, was a Bangladeshi film actor. In 1964, he was crowned as 'Mr. East Pakistan' for bodybuilding in the then East Pakistan (currently Bangladesh). He also served as the first Secretary General of National Sports Council. Shakil Khan, known professionally as Shakil Khan, is a Bangladeshi actor who was active from 1997 to 2010. Politics When Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Member of Parliament for Bagerhat-3, resigned from parliament in April 2018 to run for mayor of Khulna, Khan considered contesting the resulting by-election as an independent candidate. He decided against a run, however, and Habibun Nahar, Khaleque's wife, was elected unopposed.
