Ahmed Hammoud (born 12 July 1991) is a Moroccan actor. He is best known for the roles in the films ''13 Hours'', ''Mimosas'' and ''Zanka Contact''. Career He started acting career with several commercial advertisements. Then in 2016, he was selected for a minor role in the American biographical action thriller war film '' 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi'' directed by Michael Bay. He played the role of 'Attacker at Embassy'. Filming began on April 27, 2015 in Malta and Morocco and the film was released on January 15, 2016, by Paramount Pictures. The film later received an Oscar nomination for Best Sound Mixing at the 89th Academy Awards. With the success of the film, he was then selected for the lead role in the drama film '' Mimosas'' directed by Oliver Laxe. In the film, he played one of the lead role 'Ahmed'. ''Mimosas'' (original title: ''Mimosas'') is a 2016 drama film directed and co-written by Oliver Laxe, described by Laxe as 'a Religious Western'. The film is a co-production between Spain, Morocco, France and Qatar. The 69th Cannes Film Festival was held from 11 to 22 May 2016. Australian director George Miller was the President of the Jury for the main competition. French actor Laurent Lafitte was the host for the opening and closing ceremonies. On 15 March it was announced that Japanese director Naomi Kawase would serve as the Cinéfondation and Short Film Jury president. International Critics' Week
The International Critics' Week (french: Semaine de la Critique) was founded in 1962 and is organized by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics. It was created following the showing of '' The Connection'' directed by Shirley Clarke which had been organized by the French Syndicate of Cinema Critics for the 1961 Cannes Film Festival. It is the oldest parallel non-competitive section of the Cannes Film Festival. Óliver Laxe Coro (born 11 April 1982) is a French-born Spanish film director, screenwriter and actor of Galician ancestry. His debut feature film '' You All Are Captains'' premiered at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the FIPRESCI Prize. His third film ''Fire Will Come'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Jury Prize.
