Agdenes Lighthouse
The Agdenes Lighthouse or Ringflua is a lighthouse on the Trondheimsfjord in the municipality of Orkland in Trøndelag county, Norway. The lighthouse sits just offshore at a 90 degree bend in the fjord which leads to the city of Trondheim. The old lighthouse sits on the shore, just a short distance from the present light. The lighthouse is only accessible by boat. It is located about east of Vassbygda. About across the fjord to the north is Brekstad in Ørland municipality and about across the fjord to the southeast is the village of Hasselvika in Indre Fosen municipality. History The original lighthouse building was built in 1804 near the shore of the Trondheimsfjord. That building was rebuilt in 1828. In 1984, the old building was closed and a new light was built on Ringflua, a tiny rock in the fjord, just off the shoreline. Trøndelag
Trøndelag (; sma, Trööndelage) is a county in the central part of Norway. Lighthouses In Norway
The coast of Norway is 100,915 km long and there have been a total of 212 lighthouses along it, but no more than 154 have ever been operational at the same time. The first, Lindesnes Lighthouse, opened in 1655; the newest Lighthouse, Anda, was finished in 1932. The first Lighthouses were private operations, but in 1821 the government made the Channel and Harbor Inspector responsible for Lighthouses in Norway. A dedicated Lighthouse Administration was set up in 1841. The Lighthouses are today mostly automated and since 1974, run by the Norwegian Coastal Administration. Two lightvessels had been operated along the Norwegian coast. "Enigheden" off Ålesund from 1856 vas replaced with Lepsøyrev Lighthouse in 1879, and "Ildjernsflu" moored off Nesodden from 1914 until it was scrapped in 1968. Occulting Light
A light characteristic is all of the properties that make a particular navigational light identifiable. Graphical and textual descriptions of navigational light sequences and colours are displayed on nautical charts and in Light Lists with the chart symbol for a lighthouse, lightvessel, buoy or sea mark with a light on it. Indre Fosen is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Fosen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Årnset. Ørland is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Fosen region. Ørland is located at the southwestern tip of the Fosen peninsula at the northern shore of the mouth of Trondheimsfjord where the Stjørnfjorden arm begins. Brekstad
Brekstad is a town in the municipality of Ørland in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Trondheimsfjord at the entrance to the Stjørnfjorden. The town is located about south of the village of Uthaug and about west of the villages of Austrått and Ottersbo. The town has a population (2021) of 2,311. Brekstad received town status on 8 October 2005, thus becoming the 95th town in Norway.
