Vassbygda is a village in the municipality of Orkland in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located near the mouth of the Trondheimsfjorden across from the town of Brekstad in Ørland municipality. The Agdenes Lighthouse lies about to the east of the village and the village of Vernes and the Agdenes Church are both located about to the southwest of Vassbygda. Brekstad–Valset Ferry
The Brekstad–Valset Ferry is an automobile ferry in Trøndelag county, Norway. The ferry is part of the Norwegian County Road 710 as it crosses the Trondheimsfjorden, connecting the town of Brekstad on the Fosen peninsula to Valset in Orkland municipality. The passage is performed with the double-ended ferries MF ''Ørland'' and operated by Tide Sjø making 17 crossings in each direction each day taking 20 minutes. The ferry route started in 1977, and was operated by Fosen Trafikklag until 2007, when it lost the public service obligation contract to Tide Sjø. Agdenes Church
Agdenes Church ( no, Agdenes kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Orkland municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Vernes, Trøndelag, Vernes along the Trondheimsleia in the north part of Agdenes, about southwest of Vassbygda, Agdenes, Vassbygda. It is the main church for the Agdenes parish which is part of the Orkdal prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Nidaros. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1857 using plans drawn up by the architect Christian Heinrich Grosch. The church seats about 200 people. Agdenes Lighthouse
The Agdenes Lighthouse or Ringflua is a lighthouse on the Trondheimsfjord in the municipality of Orkland in Trøndelag county, Norway. The lighthouse sits just offshore at a 90 degree bend in the fjord which leads to the city of Trondheim. The old lighthouse sits on the shore, just a short distance from the present light. The lighthouse is only accessible by boat. It is located about east of Vassbygda. About across the fjord to the north is Brekstad in Ørland municipality and about across the fjord to the southeast is the village of Hasselvika in Indre Fosen municipality. History The original lighthouse building was built in 1804 near the shore of the Trondheimsfjord. That building was rebuilt in 1828. Ørland is a municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is part of the Fosen region. Ørland is located at the southwestern tip of the Fosen peninsula at the northern shore of the mouth of Trondheimsfjord where the Stjørnfjorden arm begins. Brekstad
Brekstad is a town in the municipality of Ørland in Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located along the Trondheimsfjord at the entrance to the Stjørnfjorden. The town is located about south of the village of Uthaug and about west of the villages of Austrått and Ottersbo. The town has a population (2021) of 2,311. Brekstad received town status on 8 October 2005, thus becoming the 95th town in Norway. The major employers in Brekstad are Ørland Main Air Station / Ørland Airport, Mascot Høie linen factory, Coop Fosen, and Tine Midt-Norge. Trondheimsfjorden
The Trondheim Fjord or Trondheimsfjorden (), an inlet of the Norwegian Sea, is Norway's third-longest fjord at long. It is located in the west-central part of the country in Trøndelag county, and it stretches from the municipality of Ørland in the west to the municipality of Steinkjer in the north, passing the city of Trondheim on its way. Its maximum depth is , between Orkland and Indre Fosen. The largest islands in the fjord are Ytterøya and Tautra; the small island of Munkholmen is located near the harbor of Trondheim; and there are several islands at the entrance of the fjord.
