Agargaon Metro Station
Agargaon (, ''romanised: Agargao'') is a metro station of the Dhaka Metro's MRT Line 6. It is located in Agargaon, and was opened on 29 December 2022. History The Agargaon Metro Station was constructed under "Package CP-03". The notification of application for construction of raised bridges for stations and railways was published on 30 June 2015 and the last date for submission of applications was 9 September 2015. Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited gets work contract for "Package CP-03". The agreement document was sent to the ministry on 29 March 2016 for NBR investigation and law and parliamentary investigation. The signing ceremony for the agreement package was held on 3 May 2017 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in Dhaka. Construction work started on 2 August 2017. It was inaugurated on 29 December 2022 and opened on the next day. Dhaka Metro Rail ( bn, ঢাকা মেট্রোরেল), colloquially known as the Dhaka Metro ( bn, ঢাকা মেট্রো) is a mass rapid transit (MRT) system serving Dhaka, Bangladesh. Together with the city's planned subway system, it is expected to reduce congestion in the capital. It is a part of the 20-year long Strategic Transport Plan (STP) outlined by the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA). The first phase of Dhaka Metro's MRT Line 6 commenced commercial operations on 28 December 2022, after being inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Farmgate
Farmgate is a area in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. It is one of the busiest and most crowded areas of Dhaka city. From the early 90s', the area has seen the massive building and construction boom. Kamalapur Metro Station
Kamalapur (, romanised: ''Komolapur'') is a metro station of the Dhaka Metro's MRT Line 6. This station is located adjacent to Kamalapur railway station. It is scheduled to be opened in 2026 and is integrated as MRT Line 6's third phase. History The extension of MRT Line 6 from Motijheel to Kamalapur railway station was planned by the government in 2019. In the next year, Bangladesh Railway and Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited agreed to connect Kamalapur railway station with MRT Line 6 of Dhaka Metro Rail. But as the current station could not match the proposed route of MRT Line 6, it was decided to demolish the Kamalapur station and construct a new one 130 meters north.
