''Adú'' is a 2020 Spanish drama film directed by Salvador Calvo, written by Alejandro Hernández and starring Moustapha Oumarou, Luis Tosar and Álvaro Cervantes. The film premiered in Spain on 31 January 2020. The film won four Goya Awards, including Best Director for Calvo and Best New Actor for Adam Nourou, from a total of thirteen nominations, at the 35th Goya Awards. Plot The film intertwines three storylines related to the African immigration to Europe. A six-year-old boy and his older sister make a desperate attempt to flee Cameroon for Europe, waiting on a runway to smuggle themselves inside an airplane's cargo hold. Not far away, an activist against illegal hunting discovers the terrible scene of a dead elephant, its tusks removed. 35th Goya Awards
The 35th Goya Awards ceremony, presented by the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España, Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AACCE), honored the best in Spanish films of 2020 and took place at the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank in Málaga on 6 March 2021. The ceremony was televised in Spain by Televisión Española (TVE) and was directed and hosted by actor Antonio Banderas and journalist María Casado (journalist), María Casado. It was also televised for the international public by the TVE Internacional channel. It was the second consecutive year that the ceremony was held in Málaga. Salvador Calvo (born 1970) is a Spanish film and television director. Biography Calvo was born 1970 in Madrid. He earned a licentiate degree in Information Sciences (Journalism) from the Complutense University of Madrid. Instead of focusing on a career in journalism, Calvo trained as director under the tutoring of Pilar Miró, Juan Carlos Corazza and Pilar Hermida.
