The Goya Award for Best Original Score (''Mejor música original'') is one of the Goya Awards, Spain's principal national film awards. The category has been presented ever since the first edition of the Goya Awards. Spanish folk band Milladoiro was the first winner of the award for their work in the film ''Half of Heaven'' (1986). Composer Alberto Iglesias holds the record of most wins and nominations for this award, winning eleven times out of seventeen nominations. The Goya Awards ( es, Premios Goya) are Spain's main national annual film awards, commonly referred to as the Academy Awards of Spain. The awards were established in 1987, a year after the founding of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, and the first awards ceremony took place on March 16, 1987 at the Teatro Lope de Vega, Madrid. The ceremony continues to take place annually at Centro de Congresos Príncipe Felipe, around the end of January/beginning of February, and awards are given to films produced during the previous year. The award itself is a small bronze bust of Francisco Goya created by the sculptor José Luis Fernández, although the original sculpture for the first edition of the Goyas was by Miguel Ortiz Berrocal. Antoine Duhamel
Antoine Duhamel (30 July 1925 – 11 September 2014) was a French composer, orchestra conductor and music teacher. Life and career Born in Valmondois in the Val-d'Oise département of France, Antoine Duhamel was one of the three sons of the French writer Georges Duhamel and actress Blanche Albane. He studied music at the Sorbonne. He was a pupil of René Leibowitz, an exponent of Arnold Schoenberg’s dodecaphonic and serial method of composing. Together with other Leibowitz pupils, Serge Nigg, André Casanova and Jean Prodromidès, he gave the first performance of Leibowitz's ''Explications des Metaphors'', Op. 15, in Paris in 1948. He wrote the score for his first film in 1960, going on to work with many of Europe's film directors. In 2002 he was awarded the Silver Bear at the Berlin Film Festival for his music for the Bertrand Tavernier directed film, Laissez-passer. Pata Negra is a Spanish flamenco-blues band, established by brothers Raimundo Amador (singer and guitarist, b. 1959 in Seville) and Rafael Amador Rafael Amador Flores (16 November 1959 – 31 July 2018) was a Mexican professional football defender who played for Mexico in the 1986 FIFA World Cup. Francisco Sánchez Gómez (21 December 194725 February 2014), known as Paco de Lucía (;), was a Spanish virtuoso flamenco guitarist, composer, and record producer. A leading proponent of the new flamenco style, he was one of the first flamenco guitarists to branch into classical and jazz. Bernardo Bonezzi
Bernardo Silvano Bonezzi Nahón (6 July 1964 – 30 August 2012) was a Spanish film music composer who was born in Madrid. He won a Cinema Writers Circle Award for ''Bendito infierno'', and was nominated for three Goya Awards and won one for his work on '' Nadie hablará de nosotras cuando hayamos muerto''. He was a frequent collaborator of Pedro Almodóvar on his early films, having composed for five, before being succeeded by Alberto Iglesias. He began his career as a member of the 1980s teen group "Los Zombies". They are best known for the song "Groenlandia", which is perhaps Bonezzi's most famous composition. On the fifth anniversary of his death, the song "Fade to Black" was released as a tribute to him. It was written and recorded by his long time friend, actress, singer Tres Hanley.
