35th Goya Awards
The 35th Goya Awards ceremony, presented by the Academia de las Artes y las Ciencias Cinematográficas de España, Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AACCE), honored the best in Spanish films of 2020 and took place at the Teatro del Soho CaixaBank in Málaga on 6 March 2021. The ceremony was televised in Spain by Televisión Española (TVE) and was directed and hosted by actor Antonio Banderas and journalist María Casado (journalist), María Casado. It was also televised for the international public by the TVE Internacional channel. It was the second consecutive year that the ceremony was held in Málaga. It was also the third consecutive year that the ceremony took place in Andalusia. 2021 Madrid Snowstorm
Storm Filomena was a extratropical cyclone in early January 2021 that was most notable for bringing unusually heavy snowfall to parts of Spain, with Madrid recording its heaviest snowfall in over a centur and with Portugal being hit less severely. The eighth named storm of the 2020–21 European windstorm season, Filomena formed over the Atlantic Ocean close to the Canary Islands on 7 January, subsequently taking a slow track north-eastwards towards the Iberian Peninsula and then eastwards across the Mediterranean Sea.
