Adventureland (New York)
Adventureland is an amusement park in East Farmingdale, New York, located on Route 110 (Broadhollow Road). Adventureland has been Long Island's main amusement park since 1962. There are a total of twenty eight rides, two of which are roller coasters and three are water rides. Adventureland is opened seasonally: weekends in March, April, May, September and October and all days in the summer. Alvin Cohen and Herb Budin bought seven acres of property in 1962 and opened a restaurant, an arcade and mini golf. Along with the building, there were four rides brought to Long Island for entertainment. The original four rides were the Carousel, the Iron Horse train, Little Dipper Coaster, and boats. Willy Miller bought Adventureland from Alvin Cohen on September 15, 1977. Throughout the years, Willy Miller brought in new rides and expanded Adventureland's activities. East Farmingdale is a hamlet and a census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, on Long Island, in New York. The population of the CDP was 6,484 at the 2010 census. Located in the Town of Babylon, the residents are served by the Farmingdale Post Office. In the past, some or all East Farmingdale was proposed to become part of the never-realized Incorporated Village of Half Hollow Hills. Turbulence (roller Coaster)
Turbulence is a steel spinning roller coaster at Adventureland in East Farmingdale, New York. The coaster opened in May 2015 and replaced the aging ''Hurricane'' coaster, which had operated at the park for 22 years. It is considered as the park's headlining attraction. Musik Express
A Music Express is an amusement ride based on the original Caterpillar (ride), Caterpillar rides of Germany. Several near-identical ride designs are also produced by other companies: Musik Express by Italian company Bertazzon and US Majestic Rides, Himalaya by American company Wisdom Rides, German company Mack, and French company Reverchon, and Silver Streak by Wisdom Rides. This ride is a modern adaptation of the famous Harry Traver Caterpillar rides. Design and operation The ride features twenty 3-passenger cars connected in a circle.
