Adelheid Arndt
Adelheid Arndt (born 3 January 1952, in Heidelberg) is a German actress. Life The daughter of a chemist and a teacher after graduation, she first studied ethnology in Berlin and graduated there from 1973 to 1977 from acting school. She started her acting career at the Grips-Theater 1976 and received a role in the film ', set in Prague during the period between 1936 and 1946. For her leading role in the film ''1+1=3'' e(1979), in which she represented a pregnant woman between two men, she received a German Film Award, the Ernst Lubitsch Award and a Grand Prix at IFF Montreal. The versatile actress appeared in the 80s in several television films and series, and collaborated actively in the ZDF Children's Series ''Quadriga'', for which she earned a prize from the European Union. In the 90s they turned next to their work in television again especially the theater. Adelheid Arndt has a daughter named Johanna (1984). ''Eurocops'' is a European television crime TV-series produced between 1988 and 1992. It is a co-production between seven European TV stations in which each station produced a number of episodes which were then pooled, dubbed and otherwise adapted when needed and broadcast by all participating stations, a format used earlier in the German crime series Tatort. The participating networks were ZDF from Germany, ORF from Austria, SRG from Switzerland, RAI from Italy, Televisión Española from Spain, Antenne 2 from France and Channel 4 from the United Kingdom. A direct consequence of the 'pooled production' format was that all episodes by one particular network had a strong local -even national- feel and were distinctly different from the episodes produced by other networks. It was produced and distributed by Baton Broadcasting System and ZDF between 1993 and 1994. In 1996, BBS stations replayed the entire series in a half-hour format. Storylines To assist with bringing in a German audience, the show went on location to Hamburg when a jewel thief and his lover (who had been in a coma for seven years and wanted revenge on the woman her husband had married in the meantime) stole the Dimarco diamond from a museum in that country. Another milestone of this show was the exploration of a lesbian couple attempting to adopt a daughter whose biological mother was deemed unfit because of her addiction to cocaine.
