Adam Nicol
Adam Nicol (born 2 July 1997 in Aberdeen, Scotland) is a Scotland U20 international rugby union player who plays for Jersey Reds at the Tighthead Prop position. He previously played for Glasgow Warriors and Stirling County. Rugby Union career Amateur career Nicol grew up in Bermuda and started at the Bermuda Youth Rugby Program, representing Bermuda as a school boy V Cayman in 2008. On return to Scotland he started out with Dunfermline, Nicol moved on to play for Glasgow University, Glasgow Hawks and then Stirling County. He studies Earth Sciences at Glasgow University. Nicol has been drafted to Stirling County in the Scottish Premiership for the 2018-19 season. Professional career On 25 November 2016, Nicol played for Glasgow Warriors against Ospreys in the Pro12, replacing D'Arcy Rae at Tighthead Prop. He became Glasgow Warrior No. 275. Stirling
Stirling (; sco, Stirlin; gd, Sruighlea ) is a city in central Scotland, northeast of Glasgow and north-west of Edinburgh. Bridgehaugh Park is a rugby union ground in Stirling, Scotland, with a capacity of approximately 4,000. It is the home of Stirling County RFC, who currently play in the Scottish Premiership. Northampton Saints (officially Northampton Rugby Football Club) is a professional rugby union club from Northampton, England. They play in Premiership Rugby, England's top division of rugby. 2017–18 Glasgow Warriors Season
The 2017–18 season saw Glasgow Warriors compete in the competitions: the Guinness Pro14 and the European Champions Cup. Season overview League expansion With the addition of two South African sides, the Pro12 expanded to become the Pro14 for season 2017–18. The format of the league changed to accommodate the extra teams. It was split into two conferences and matches played in a conference system with the addition of 2 derby fixtures. The play-off system also changed with the winners of the conferences hosting a Semi-Final and each conference runners up and 3rd place teams playing off in Quarter-Final fixtures. The Scottish Rugby Academy, for sponsorship reasons the Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy, is a national academy structure designed to give Scotland's young rugby stars a pathway into the professional game. The academy structure is based on 4 regional academies geographically based on the traditional districts of Glasgow District. Edinburgh District, North and Midlands and South.
