Ad Vitam (company)
Ad Vitam is a French independent film company headquartered in Paris. It specializes in film distribution, but has since expanded into film production. Since its founding in 1998, Ad Vitam has become one of France's leading independent distribution companies. History Ad Vitam was founded in 1998 by Alexandra Henochsberg, Gregory Gajos and Arthur Hallereau. The company distributed its first film on 27 January 1999, ''La révolution sexuelle n'a pas eu lieu'', directed by Judith Cahen. As of 2015, Ad Vitam had released more than eighty films in French cinemas. According to Gregory Gajos, head of acquisitions, the company's programming is driven by an impulse to "First, choose films that we like, then think about their success". ''Société par actions simplifiée'' (SAS; English: simplified joint-stock company) is a French type of business entity. It is the first hybrid entity enacted under French law and based on common law principles rather than civil. It is similar to a limited liability company under United States law, as the Delaware LLC was the model used by the French government. Pascale Ferran (; born 17 April 1960) is a French film director and screenwriter. In 2007, her film ''Lady Chatterley'' won five César Awards including Best Film, Best Cinematography and Best Adaptation. Her 2014 film '' Bird People'' was selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. His 2015 debut feature film, ''Son of Saul,'' was screened in the main competition at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Grand Prix. ''Son of Saul'' ( hu, Saul fia) is a 2015 Hungarian historical drama film directed by László Nemes, in his feature directorial debut, and co-written by Nemes and Clara Royer. It is set in the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II, and follows a day-and-a-half in the life of Saul Ausländer (played by Géza Röhrig), a Hungarian member of the '' Sonderkommando''.
