Aberdeen Bus Station
Aberdeen bus station is a bus station in Aberdeen, Scotland. It is operated by Stagecoach Group. History A single central bus station in Aberdeen was first considered in the 1950s, with a site in Upper Denburn selected by W. Alexander & Sons. At the time, there were several bus stations in use in Aberdeen. However, in March 1960, the company announced that it did not intend to develop the Upper Denburn site and had instead selected a site on the grounds of the Joint Railway Station (now Aberdeen railway station). The new bus station opened on 15 April 1963. Redevelopment of the bus station was included in the Union Square project which saw former railway land replaced with retail. The first phase of this project saw the existing bus station demolished and rebuilt, and was completed in February 2008. Guild Street, Aberdeen
Guild Street is a main street in the city centre of Aberdeen, Scotland, close to the harbour. Historic buildings Her Majesty's Opera House opened in 1872. The listed building of the reopened Tivoli Theatre, Guild Street drill hall, and the Staton Hotel are on the street. The Custom House, 2 Guild Street and 50, 52, 54 Guild Street are noted. The Jet 727 is an airport bus service between Aberdeen bus station and Aberdeen Airport via the P&J Live operated by Stagecoach Bluebird. History The route was introduced by Stagecoach Bluebird in partnership with Aberdeen City Council in August 2010. On 6 May 2016, a newly purchased fleet of Alexander Dennis Enviro400 double-decker buses began operating the route. Previously, the route was operated by single-decker Optare Versas. On 30 January 2017, the route was adjusted to serve the newly opened Craibstone Park and Ride facility. However, in May 2017 the change was reverted due to passenger feedback. X7 Coastrider
The X7 Coastrider is an hourly bus route between Perth and Aberdeen via Dundee operated by Stagecoach East Scotland. The service runs seven days per week. History The route was introduced on 12 September 2011 and was initially operated by a fleet of six new Plaxton Elite coaches. In 2014, Stagecoach purchased eight new Plaxton Elite-i interdeck coaches for the route. These began service on 24 November. At this time, the southern terminus of the service was also extended from Dundee to Perth. The extension replaced route number 333, which operated between Perth Royal Infirmary and Ninewells Hospital. A ninth coach was subsequently acquired for the route.
