Abdurreshid Ibrahim
Abdurresid Ibrahim ( tt-Cyrl, Габдрәшит Ибраһимов, Siberian Tatar. ''Әптрәшит Ипрағимов'' 1857 in Tara, Tobolsk Governorate (in today's Omsk oblast) – 1944) was a Russia-born Tatar Muslim Alim (singular of Ulama), journalist, and traveller who initiated a movement in the first decade of the 20th century to unite the Crimean Tatars. He visited Japan in Meiji period and became the first imam of Tokyo Camii (Tokyo Mosque). Tara, Omsk Oblast
Tara (russian: Та́ра) is a town in Omsk Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Tara and Irtysh Rivers at a point where the forested country merges into the steppe, about north of Omsk, the administrative center of the oblast. Imam
Imam (; ar, إمام '; plural: ') is an Islamic leadership position. For Sunni Muslims, Imam is most commonly used as the title of a worship leader of a mosque. In this context, imams may lead Islamic worship services, lead prayers, serve as community leaders, and provide religious guidance. Akmolinsk Oblast (Russian Empire)
Akmolinsk Oblast was an oblast (province) of the Russian Empire. It roughly corresponded to most of present-day northern Kazakhstan and the southern part of Omsk Oblast in Russia. It was formerly part of Kazakh khanate. It was created after the division of the Oblast of Siberia Kyrgyz into the oblasts Aqmola and Semirechye on 21 October 1868. Its center was Omsk and consisted of uezds Akmolinsk, Atbasar, Kokchetav, Omsk and Petropavlovsk. Arsky District (russian: А́рский райо́н; tt-Cyrl, Арча районы, ''Arça rayonı'') – is a territorial administrative unit and municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan within the Russian Federation. Qışqar ( tt-Cyrl, Кышкар, translit=Qışqar, russian: Кшкар) is a rural locality (a selo) in Arça District, Tatarstan. The population was 229 as of 2010. Geography Qışqar is located 31 km northwest of Arça, district's administrative centre, and 97 km northeast of Qazan, republic's capital, by road. Akhoond
Akhund (akhoond, akhwand, akhand or akondo) ( fa, آخوند) is a Persian title or surname for Islamic scholars, common in Iran, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Azerbaijan. Other names for similar Muslim Scholar include sheikh and mullah. The Standard Chinese word for imam (), used in particular by the Hui people, also derives from this term. Duty Akhunds are religious and spiritual leaders. Siberian Bukharans
The Siberian Bukharans (self-designation: ''Poğarlı'') are an ethnographic and sociocultural group in Siberia. They constituted a significant part of the Tobol-Irtysh and Tom groups of Siberian Tatars. The legend has it that their ancestors came from Khanate of Bukhara, but geneticists have found out that they came from Western Caucasus. They were merchants and started to settle in the area in the 17th century Compare: after the start of the Russian conquest of Siberia in the 1580s.
