Abdullah Hashim
Abdullah Biston Hashim is a Moro Filipino who is a member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament. Early life and education Hashim was born on December 10, 1987, in Manila, Philippines. He is the eldest child of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) founder Salamat Hashim. He used a different surname when he attended elementary and high school classes for his own safety. Hashim stayed in urban areas during school months and stayed at Camp Abubakar during vacation time. He only got to use his real surname when he attended Notre Dame University in Cotabato City, pursuing a bachelor's degree in secondary education, major in math. A Muslim he also studied at the Wisdom Islamic School in Davao City. The Bangsamoro Transition Authority is the interim regional government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of the Philippines and has executive and legislative powers over the region. History With the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law following a plebiscite on January 21, 2019, the abolition process of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) began, paving way for the formal creation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. Under the law, a transition body, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), is to be organized pending the election of the new region's government officials in 2022. Salamat Hashim
Salamat Hashim, also known as Hashim Salamat, was a Filipino militant who served as leader of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. He is the founder of the group. Early life and education Hashim was born in Midsayap, Cotabato (now Pagalungan, Maguindanao) on July 7, 1939 to a religious family, one of seven siblings. At age six, he was taught by his mother on how to read the Quran. In the 1950s, Hashim received formal elementary and high school education and was an honor student. Camp Iranun is a Philippine Army military base located in Barira, Maguindanao, Philippines. It is named after the Iranun people, a Moro ethnic group native to the area encompassing the boundaries of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur and North Cotabato provinces.
