Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament
The Bangsamoro Transition Authority is the interim regional government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of the Philippines and has executive and legislative powers over the region. History With the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law following a plebiscite on January 21, 2019, the abolition process of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) began, paving way for the formal creation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. Under the law, a transition body, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), is to be organized pending the election of the new region's government officials in 2022. It was planned that the BTA will be constituted in February 2019. It is projected that the transition body would be composed of a total of 105 members (80 appointed members and 25 elected officials of the ARMM) until June 30, 2019. Bangsamoro Transition Commission
The Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) was a government body which was tasked to aid in creating the draft of the Bangsamoro Organic Law as well as the transition body in the areas to form the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region until the constitution of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority and formal creation of the autonomous region. Background The Bangsamoro Transition Commission is a government body created on December 17, 2013 by the virtue of Executive Order 120 signed by President Benigno Aquino III. The commission is tasked to come up with a draft on the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), which would serve as the basis of a new Bangsamoro political entity, in accordance to the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro. 2nd Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament
The 2nd Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament, is the second interim Bangsamoro Parliament, the legislature of the transitional regional government of Bangsamoro. It is composed of members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority which had a new set of members on August 12, 2022, who are appointed by President Bongbong Marcos. It succeeded the 1st BTA Parliament of 2019 to 2022 and had its inaugural session on September 15, 2022. The first regular session opened on September 20, 2022. Leadership For the second parliament, the position of majority and minority leaders were discontinued. Sha Elijah Dumama-Alba was initially named as majority leader with no minority leader named. 1st Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament
The 1st Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament, is the first interim Bangsamoro Parliament, the legislature of the transitional regional government of Bangsamoro. It is composed of members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority which itself was constituted on February 22, 2019 when its first set of members took their oath. The inaugural session began on March 29, 2019 and ended on April 23, 2020. At the start of the first regular session, the parliament had 75 members. The second regular session began on June 16, 2020. The third session began on June 15, 2021. The fourth session began on June 14, 2022. The fourth session was abruptly ended when a new set of BTA officials were appointed in August 12, 2022 and the 2nd interim parliament held its inaugural session on September 15, 2022. Ahod Balawag Ebrahim (born 15 May 1949), better known as Al-hajj Murad Ebrahim, is a Moro Filipino politician and former rebel leader currently serving as the first chief minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
