Aasta Nielsen
Aasta Nielsen (September 29, 1897 – October 24, 1975) was a Norwegian actress. Nielsen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway and was a first cousin of the Wagnerian soprano Kirsten Flagstad. She debuted as a theater actress in 1915 and appeared at the Norwegian Theater, the Casino Opera Theater, the Mayol Theater, the Central Theater, and the Stavanger Permanent Theater. She retired from acting in 1933. Kirsten Flagstad
Kirsten Malfrid Flagstad (12 July 1895 – 7 December 1962) was a Norwegian opera singer, who was the outstanding Wagnerian soprano of her era. Her triumphant debut in New York on 2 February 1935 is one of the legends of opera. Giulio Gatti-Casazza, the longstanding General Manager of the Metropolitan Opera said, “I have given America two great gifts — Caruso and Flagstad.” Called "the voice of the century", she ranks among the greatest singers of the 20th century. Desmond Shawe-Taylor wrote of her in the '' New Grove Dictionary of Opera'': "No one within living memory surpassed her in sheer beauty and consistency of line and tone." ''Felix'' is a Norwegian silent drama film from 1921. The film is based on the story ''Keiser Felix'' by Gustav Aagaard. It was adapted into a screenplay by Gunnar Nilsen-Vig, who was also the film's cinematographer. Rasmus Breistein directed the film, and it was distributed by Kommunenes Filmcentral. Plot As autumn storms are blowing in over the island of Fagerøy, the priest's wife Else Margrete and her child die in childbirth.
