''A Town Called Panic'' (french: Panique au village) is a 2009 International co-production, internationally co-produced stop-motion animated adventure film, adventure fantasy comedy film directed by Stéphane Aubier and Vincent Patar from a screenplay co-written by Aubier, Patar, Guillaume Malandrin and Vincent Tavier. The film is based on the French-language Belgian series A Town Called Panic, of the same name and stars Aubier, Jeanne Balibar, Nicolas Buysse, Véronique Dumont, Bruce Ellison, Frédéric Jannin, Bouli Lanners, and Patar, among others. It premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and was the first stop-motion film to be screened at the festival. The film was released theatrically in Belgium on 17 June 2009 by Cinéart and in France on 28 October 2009 by Gébéka Films. The film received generally positive reviews from film critics. Stéphane Aubier
Stéphane Aubier (born October 8, 1964) is a Belgian film director and screenwriter. In 2009, he wrote and directed the animated film ''A Town Called Panic (film), A Town Called Panic'' along with Vincent Patar. It premiered at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival and was the first stop-motion film to be screened at the festival. In 2013, he co-directed with Patar and Benjamin Renner the film ''Ernest & Celestine'', which received widespread critical acclaim. The film received three Magritte Awards, including Magritte Award for Best Film, Best Film and Magritte Award for Best Director, Best Director for Aubier and Patar. 2009 Toronto Film Festival
The 34th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada between September 10 and September 19, 2009. The opening night gala presented the Charles Darwin biography ''Creation''. '' The Young Victoria'', based on the early years of Queen Victoria, closed the festival on September 19. About the 2009 Festival TIFF is a non-profit organization whose goal is to change the way people look at the world through film. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999.
