Nationale 1 (Senegal)
The Nationale 1 Masculin (abbreviated as NM1; in English: National 1 Men) is the highest professional basketball league in Senegal. Established in 1971, the league consists of 16 teams. Each season is finished with a final in a single-game elimination format, held at the Marius Ndiaye Stadium in Dakar. AS Douanes and ASFA are the most successful team in NM1 history with 10 won titles each. The champions of the NM1 qualify directly for the regular season of the Basketball Africa League (BAL), the premiere continental league. Dakar ( ; ; wo, Ndakaaru) (from daqaar ''tamarind''), is the capital and largest city of Senegal. The Senegalese Basketball Cup (french: Coupe du Senegal de basket) is an annual cup competition for men's basketball teams in Senegal. Alkaly Ndour
Alkaly Mamadou Ndour (born 2 March 1997) is a Senegalese basketball player for AS Douanes and . Professional career Ndour started his professional career in 2012 when he started playing for ASCC Bopp in the Senegalse Nationale 1. In 2016, he transferred to AS Douanes. Since the 2017–18 season, he is the starting point guard for the team. In May 2021, he played with Douanes in the 2021 BAL season. Ndour was the starting point guard for AS Douanes in the 2023 BAL season as well, an extremely successful season for the team as the Senegalese were the runners-up. 2021 Nationale 1 Season
The 2021 Nationale 1 season was the season of the Nationale 1, the premier basketball league in Senegal. The champions directly qualify for the 2022 Basketball Africa League season. DUC Dakar won its fifth national championship after defeating defending champions AS Douanes in the final. Thierno Niang was named the league's Finals MVP.
