ACI EUROPE
Airports Council International Europe (ACI EUROPE) is a European industry trade association which advances the collective interests of Europe's airports and promotes professional excellence in airport management and operations. The members are over 600 airport operators of all sizes in 58 European countries, over 90% of commercial air traffic in Europe. ACI EUROPE member airports welcomed over 2.3 billion passengers and handled 17 million metric tonnes of cargo and nearly 45 million aircraft movements each year since 1990. ACI EUROPE is a non-profit organisation. It is led by their non executive-general Olivier Jankovec, and has a team of 25 full-time staff. Its offices are in Square de Meeus, Brussels, Belgium. Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation
The Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO) is a representative body of companies that provide air traffic control. It represents the interests of Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs). CANSO members are responsible for supporting over 85% of world air traffic, and through its workgroups, members share information and develop new policies, with the aim of improving air navigation services on the ground and in the air. CANSO also represents its members' views in regulatory and industry forums, including at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), where it has official Observer status. Full membership is open to all ANSPs regardless of their legal status. This includes ANSPs who are integrated within government structures and departments. Airport Collaborative Decision Making
Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) is a consortium that aims to improve the operational efficiency of all airport operators. It is a joint venture between ACI EUROPE, EUROCONTROL, International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO). It seeks to reduce delays, increase the predictability of events during a flight and optimise the utilisation of resources. The effort was expected to increase airport capacity. The tactic is to improve real-time information sharing between airport operators, aircraft operators, ground handlers and air traffic control by modifying operational procedures and automating processes. Airport Carbon Accreditation
''Airport Carbon Accreditation'' is a global carbon management programme for airports that independently assesses and recognises airports' efforts to manage and reduce their CO2 emissions. Aircraft emissions, which are many times greater than airport emissions, are not included in the programme. The airport industry accounts for 5% of the air transport sector’s total carbon emissions. The programme was launched by European airports' trade body Airports Council International Europe, ACI EUROPE at their Annual Congress in June 2009. It is independently administered by WSP Global, WSP, an international consultancy firm. The programme provides airports with a common framework for active carbon management with measurable goal-posts.
