The A4216 is a main road in Swansea, Wales. Route The road links Sketty with Gendros. It begins at the junction at the bottom of Sketty Lane with Mumbles Road. It continues up Sketty Lane, onto Sketty Park Road then bears right onto Dillwyn Road to the junction with the A4118 (Gower Road) at Sketty Cross. It continues through this road then up Vivian Road past Tycoch. The A4216 then continues along Cockett Road past Cwm Gwyn and through Cockett. Sketty
The suburban district of Sketty ( cy, Sgeti) is about 2 miles (3.2 km) west of the Swansea city centre on Gower Road. It falls within the Sketty council ward of Swansea. It is also a community. Description The area approximates to the Vivian Road, and Sketty Green. The village is centred on Sketty Cross, which is the junction of Gower Road, Vivian Road, and Dillwyn Road. Directly on the cross, on the West Gower Road/Vivian Road junction, The Vivian pub, known as The Vivs, can be found. A second pub, The Bush, was immediately on the east side of this junction, but is now closed. In the immediate vicinity of Sketty Cross and the nearby Eversley Road, a variety of businesses can be found. Gendros is a suburban district of the City and County of Swansea, Wales falling within the Cockett ward. Gendros approximates to the settlement northwest of Carmarthen Road (A483 road) between Cwmdu and Penlan. The A4118 road is in Swansea, Wales, connecting Dyfatty Street in Swansea City Centre with Port Eynon in the Gower Peninsula. The route runs through suburban areas until it reaches Upper Killay, where the road enters rural Gower. It passes over Fairwood Common and through several villages before terminating at Port Eynon. Tycoch (also written Ty-coch) is a suburban district of the City and County of Swansea in Wales. It is situated in the Sketty ward of the city, north-west of Sketty Cross. The area is chiefly residential. Housing around Carnglas Square is mostly pre-war, while that the higher ground at Llwyn Mawr dates from the 1970s onwards. Amenities There are several shops and other commercial premises in and around Carnglas Square (the junction of Carnglas Road, Harlech Crescent, and Ty-coch Road) including a sub post office, a newsagent, a computer shop, an Indian takeaway, and a wine bar / bistro, but no pub. Cockett
Cockett ( cy, Y Cocyd) is a district and community (Wales), community in Swansea, Wales falling within Cockett (electoral ward), Cockett ward. It is located about north-west of Swansea city centre. It includes the eastern half of Gowerton. Cockett, in common with much of western Swansea, was the result of late Victorian and early twentieth century expansion.
