A-Welle
A-Welle, more formally known as the Tarifverbund A-Welle or sometimes the Tarifverbund Aargau, is a Swiss tariff network covering the canton of Aargau, with the exception of the districts of Laufenburg and Rheinfelden, together with the eastern part of the canton of Solothurn. The Tarifverbund A-Welle was created on 12 December 2004, when the previous tariff associations for Olten and Aargau merged. Initially the tariff network applied only to season tickets and passes, but it was expanded on 13 December 2009 to include single tickets as well as day and multi-trip tickets. List Of Swiss Tariff Networks
The list of the Swiss tariff networks contains tariff networks with SBB participation. Switzerland has had a national integrated ticketing system for over a hundred years. This, however, was limited to the regional and mainline services, as well as some tourist traffic. It is known that not uniform pricing schedule and the participation of the individual companies could be limited to certain parts of the entire network (single tickets, multi-journey tickets, season tickets, half-price tickets collective, etc.). Busbetrieb Aarau
''Busbetrieb Aarau AG'', is a public transport operator serving the city of Aarau, Switzerland and the surrounding areas in the Canton of Aargau. It was founded in 1958 and operates using the BBA Bus Aarau brand. Between 2002 and 2018, the Busbetrieb Aarau formed part of an umbrella brand, the AAR bus+bahn, along with the Wynental- und Suhrentalbahn (WSB). Vehicles of both undertakings prominently displayed the AAR bus+bahn brand, displacing their own brandings. The two companies shared some senior managers, but remained legally distinct. In 2018, the WSB became part of the Aargau Verkehr company and the AAR bus+bahn brand was disbanded. The Busbetrieb Aarau now operates under its own brand with its own management team. The Busbetrieb Aarau is a member of the A-Welle tariff network that provides zonal ticketing across the various modes and routes operated by its members. Laufenburg, Switzerland
Laufenburg is a municipality in the Swiss canton of Aargau. It is the seat of the district of the same name. On 1 January 2010 the municipality Sulz merged into Laufenburg. It has approximately 2000 inhabitants. On the other side of the Rhine River lies Laufenburg (Baden), Germany. The same name is not by accident, as the two used to be the same city. In the early 19th century Napoleon divided the city. Two bridges now link both cities. In 1985, Laufenburg received the Wakker Prize for the development and preservation of its architectural heritage. The canton of Solothurn or canton of Soleure (german: Kanton Solothurn rm, Chantun Soloturn french: Canton de Soleure; it, Canton Soletta) is a canton of Switzerland. Olten
Olten (High Alemannic: ''Oute'') is a town in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland and capital of the district of the same name. Olten's railway station is within 30 minutes of Zürich, Basel, Bern, and Lucerne by train, and is a rail hub of Switzerland. History Significant amounts of artefacts of the Magdalenian (c. 16'000 to 14'000 years ago) have been excavated near Olten. There are also finds dated to the Mesolithic and Neolithic, but there is no trace of a settlement, and no ceramic finds; finds dating to the Bronze and Iron Ages are also rather limited. There was a vicus at the site during the Roman era. The name of the settlement is not known, but it seems to have been of a certain importance, presumably reflecting the presence of a bridge across the Aar River. Aargau Verkehr AG (AVA) is a Swiss transportation company. It was formed on June 19, 2018, from the merger of BDWM Transport and the Wynental and Suhrental Railway.
