9Go! is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel, which was launched by the Nine Network on 9 August 2009, replacing Nine Guide. It is a youthful channel that offers a mix of comedy, reality, general entertainment, movies, animation and drama aimed at people between the ages of 2 to 18. History 2009: Origins and launch The general concept for GO! was revealed on 23 March 2009, with the Nine Network announcing their intention to start a standard-definition variety-based multichannel, launched midway through 2009. The channel's name and branding was first revealed as GO!99 on 14 April 2009 by TV Tonight, a blog dedicated to Australian television. 9Gem is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel, launched by the Nine Network in September 2010. The channel provides general entertainment and movie programming, from which the original name "GEM" is derived. History Nine Network CEO David Gyngell stated "GEM is part of Nine's strategy to create a cluster of complementary channels to cover all key audiences." The channel is aimed at everyone, including lifestyle programs and movies, with additional programming drawn from a combination of new shows and other shows previously aired on its sister channels Nine and GO!. 9Life is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel owned by Nine Entertainment. The channel airs mostly foreign lifestyle and reality programs, with the channel having a licensing agreement with Discovery Inc. (previously Scripps Networks Interactive) for the distribution of many formats. Nine Guide
The Nine Guide was a television datacast channel provided by the Nine Network to digital television viewers in Australia. It began broadcasting on 21 August 2001, in Sydney broadcasting 24 hours a day. The channel expanded to fellow Nine Network stations in Melbourne and Brisbane in 2002. The Guide was modified for state-based programming and program promotions. The Nine Guide was shut down on Thursday, 13 November 2008, replaced by a full-screen simulcast of Channel Nine in preparation for the launch of multichannel GO!. TVT is Tasmania's first television station, delivering its first official broadcast on 23 May 1960. The callsign stands for "TeleVision Tasmania". Unlike the commercial stations in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, and later Perth, TVT held a monopoly in the Hobart market for many years (not unlike CTC (TV station), CTC in Canberra and NTD (Australian TV station), NTD in Darwin). Initially it broadcast from the Mount Wellington, Tasmania, Mount Wellington transmitter on VHF channel 6, to all of Hobart. 9Rush is an Australian free-to-air digital television multichannel, launched by the Nine Network on 5 April 2020. The channel is a joint venture with Warner Bros. Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific Pte. Ltd (which also supplies its programming) and is broadcast on Channel 96 across Nine's metropolitan markets. The target audience are males between the ages of 25 to 54.
