''9.0: Live'' is the first live album by American heavy metal band Slipknot. The band recorded the two-disc album during a 2004–05 world tour that promoted their third studio album '' Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)''. Released by Roadrunner Records on November 1, 2005, ''9.0: Live'' features tracks from Slipknot's first three studio albums: '' Slipknot'', '' Iowa'', and '' Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)''. Many of the included tracks are rarely played live; "Skin Ticket" from the album ''Iowa'' was its first live performance. ''9.0: Live'' peaked in the top twenty in album sales for Austria and the United States, and was certified gold in the United States. Slipknot (band)
Slipknot is an American heavy metal band formed in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Jordison, Gray, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Gray died on May 24, 2010, and was replaced during 2011–2014 by guitarist Donnie Steele. Jordison was dismissed from the band on December 12, 2013. Steele left during the recording sessions for '' .5: The Gray Chapter''. The band found replacements in Alessandro Venturella on bass and Jay Weinberg on drums. "Before I Forget" is a song by American heavy metal band Slipknot, released as the third single from the band's third studio album, '' Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)'' (2004). It was cited by AOL as the top metal song of the decade. It also won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2006. "Before I Forget" borrows elements from a much older Slipknot song "Carve", recorded before their self-titled album. The earliest version was in 1996 with Anders Colsefni on vocals. Michael Shawn Crahan (born September 24, 1969), more commonly known by his stage persona "Clown", is an American musician. He is the co-founder and one of two percussionists for heavy metal band Slipknot in which he is designated #6. Crahan helped found Slipknot in 1995 along with Paul Gray and Joey Jordison. As of 2022, Crahan is the only remaining founding member of Slipknot.
