6 News Australia
6 News Australia (also known simply as 6 News) is a streaming news channel based in Melbourne, Australia. The channel is known for a large portion of its journalists being teenagers. History 6 News was founded in 2019 as HMV Local News by Leonardo Puglisi, who was 11 years old at the time. The channel changed its name to 6 News on 1 January 2020. In August 2021, the channel was suspended by YouTube for a week after uploading a video of then-MP George Christensen, which violated YouTube's policy against COVID-19 misinformation. The suspension was overturned after it was determined "there was sufficient context" to allow the video to be published. Public Interest Journalism Initiative
The Public Interest Journalism Initiative (PIJI) is an independent Australian research and public policy institute, established in Melbourne in 2018. It is a registered not-for-profit charitable organisation that is focused on research into sustainability in the news media sector. It was founded by a group of university academics, including members of the Public Interest Journalism Foundation, and news media industry figures. It was established with philanthropic funding from the Susan McKinnon Foundation, Australian Communities Foundation and Hecht Trust. Leonardo Puglisi ( ; born 12 November 2007) is an Australian journalist. He is the founder of online news channel 6 News Australia. He lives in Melbourne, Victoria. George Christensen
George Robert Christensen (born 30 June 1978) is a former Australian politician and former journalist who was a member of the Australian House of Representatives from 2010 to 2022, as the member of parliament (MP) for the division of Dawson. The 2022 Australian federal election was held on Saturday 21 May 2022 to elect members of the 47th Parliament of Australia.
