SAFM (official callsign: 5SSA) is a commercial FM radio station owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo as part of the Hit Network. The station is broadcast to Adelaide, South Australia from studios in Franklin Street. History The station began broadcasting on 12 September 1980, on the frequency of 107.5 MHz, with a call sign of 5SSA and an original on-air branding of "Double SA-FM" which was very short-lived and soon replaced by "SA-FM". 5MMM (identified on air and in print as Triple M) is a radio station broadcasting in Adelaide, Australia. Its target demographic is the 30-54 age group. Triple M Adelaide is part of Southern Cross Austereo's Triple M Network and broadcasts on the 104.7 MHz frequency. Triple M Adelaide has in the past simply networked the majority of its shows from its Sydney and Melbourne counterpart stations, but since 2011 it has focussed more on local content. FIVEaa (pronounced ''Five Double A'') is Adelaide's only commercial talkback radio station. The station has a range of programs including news, sports, current affairs, social issues, football calls, gardening, lifestyle, cars, travel and health. It is owned by Nova Entertainment. History 5AA commenced service in Kent Town on 14 March 1976 on the frequency 1390 AM. It was moved to 1386 AM with the introduction of 9 kHz spacing on the AM dial in 1978. The station now broadcasts on 1395 AM. 5AA commenced its life with a "Beautiful Music" format and quickly became Adelaide's number-1-rated radio station. From 2006 to 2017, Australian comedy duo Hamish & Andy hosted a number of radio shows. Their first programme, ''Hamish & Andy'', began on Fox FM in 2006 and was broadcast nationwide on the Hit Network from 2007 to 2010 in the weekday drive time slot. The show was the highest-rated radio series in Australian history, consistently gaining up to 20% market share in the crucial Melbourne market, with around 2.7 million listeners and 1 million podcast downloads each week. From 2011 to 2012, the show was restructured to broadcast weekly on Fridays. Rebecca Jane Morse (born 26 August 1977, in South Australia) is an Australian journalist, news and radio presenter. Morse was a presenter of Adelaide's '' 10 News First.'' She is also a co-host on SAFM's breakfast radio show ''Bec, Cosi & Lehmo'' in Adelaide with Andrew "Cosi" Costello and Anthony Lehmann. Career Morse attended Blackwood High School and the University of South Australia at Magill. Prior to joining Ten she worked for the ABC in Adelaide as a reporter and presenter.
