3GG
3GG is an Australian commercial radio station based in Warragul, Victoria owned by Capital Radio Network. Formerly owned and operated by Resonate Broadcasting and prior, RG Capital and Macquarie Regional RadioWorks, it was acquired by the Capital Radio Network in February 2015. History 3GG first went to air in 1937 as 3UL, named after the town from which it then broadcast; Warragul. 3UL's founder was Vic Dinenny. Dinenny had earlier operated 3YB as a mobile station, broadcasting from various towns around Victoria. As more and more rural stations opened in Victoria, the concept of a mobile station became less practical. Therefore, Dinenny applied for and received licences for two non-mobile (or conventional) stations, one in Warrnambool, which kept the 3YB call sign, and the other being 3UL in Warragul. Capital Radio Network is an Australian radio company, which owns stations in Canberra, Goulburn, Cooma, the Snowy Mountains, Gippsland and Perth. The company is a subsidiary of Blyton Group, with Kevin James Blyton as managing director for both. The company first acquired 2XL (now XLFM) in the Snowy Mountains, as well as 2CC and 2CA in Canberra - the latter two offloaded from parent companies Australian Radio Network and Austereo respectively in order for them to launch joint-venture stations 104.7 and Mix 106.3. Traralgon
Traralgon ( ) is a town located in the east of the Latrobe Valley in the Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia and the most populous city of the City of Latrobe. The urban population of Traralgon at the was 26,907. It is the largest and fastest growing city in the greater Latrobe Valley area, which has a population of 77,168 at the 2021 Census and is administered by the City of Latrobe. Naming The origin of the name Traralgon is unconfirmed. The name was used for the pastoral lease of the Hobson brothers in 1844, centred on Traralgon Creek, and was alternatively rendered 'Tralgon' by Dr Edumund Hobson. Latrobe Valley
The Latrobe Valley is an inland geographical district and urban area of the Gippsland region in the state of Victoria, Australia. The traditional owners are the Brayakaulung of the Gunai nation. Triple M Gippsland (official callsign: 3SEA) is a commercial radio station owned and operated by Southern Cross Austereo as part of the Triple M network. The station is broadcast to townships in the Gippsland region of Victoria from studios in Warragul. The station commenced broadcasting in 2002 as 94.3 Sea FM as a supplementary license to 3GG. On 4 July 2005, the station relaunched as Star FM in line with Macquarie Regional RadioWorks' other Victorian stations, retaining its contemporary hit radio music format. On 15 December 2016, the station was again relaunched as Hit Gippsland. On 20 July 2020, the station flipped formats to mainstream rock as Triple M. Don Kilgour
Donald Kilgour (born 16 April 1946) is a former Australian politician. He was the National member for Shepparton in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1991 to 2002. Kilgour was born in Numurkah, Victoria, to Leonard Leslie Kilgour and Jean Venables. He was educated at Katamatite Primary School, Numurkah High School and Lee Murray Radio College before becoming a radio announcer on 3UL Warragul in 1965. In 1967 he moved to 3SR Shepparton, where he was also studio manager. He married Cheryl Joan Cooper on 29 March 1969, with whom he had three children. In 1974 he became a sports commentator on both radio and television. In that year he also became active in the Country Party as media manager for the state seat of Shepparton and the federal seat of Murray.
