2030 Asian Games
The 2030 Asian Games ( ar, دورة الألعاب الآسيوية 2030, Dawrat al-ʼAl‘ab al-Asīawīah 2030), officially known as the XXI Asiad ( ar, الـ21 من الآسياد, Al 21 mn-Alīsyad) and commonly known as Doha 2030, will be the twenty-first edition of the Asian Games, a pan-Asian multi-sport event that, to be held in Doha, Qatar. Doha was elected as the host city at the 39th OCA General Assembly on 16 December 2020 in Muscat, Oman. These Games will be the second Asian Games to be held in Qatar, the second in Arabian Peninsula, the first of two consecutive Asian Games in Arabian Peninsula, the following Games set to be the 2034 Asian Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Doha
Doha ( ar, الدوحة, ad-Dawḥa or ''ad-Dōḥa'') is the capital city and main financial hub of Qatar. West End Park International Cricket Stadium
West End Park International Cricket Stadium (official name) or Al-Arabi Stadium or Asian Town Cricket Stadium is a cricket ground in Doha, Qatar. In June 2013, the ground was opened for cricket with opening of the Grand Mall Hypermarket on its premise. The stadium can seat 13,000. History West End Park is developed by the Qatar Property Management in collaboration with Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad bin Thani Social Welfare Foundation. The sports club at West End Park project will also have a football ground, four cricket pitches for practice, four badminton and eight basketball courts. Al Thumama Stadium
Al-Thumama Stadium () is a football stadium in Al Thumama, Qatar. It is a venue for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The stadium is located about 20 km south of Doha. Construction The Al Thumama Stadium is one of eight stadiums, which have been built, renovated, or reconstructed for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022. It is located near Hamad International Airport. A joint venture between Al Jaber Engineering of Qatar and Tekfen Construction of Turkey is significantly involved in the construction work. The architectural design, by the Chief Architect of Arab Engineering Bureau Ibrahim Jaidah, takes its inspiration from the traditional taqiyah hat, a traditional cap which is worn by men and boys across the Middle East. Hamad Aquatic Centre
Hamad Aquatic Centre is a large swimming pool complex in Doha, Qatar. The centre is housed in the Doha Sports City complex along with other buildings dedicated to sports in Qatar including the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, the Aspire Tower, Khalifa International Stadium, and a training school called Aspire Academy. It is three stories tall and is equipped to host events in swimming, synchronized swimming, and diving. Aspire Dome
The Aspire Dome is an indoor multi-purpose arena based in Qatar. It is located in the Aspire Academy in Doha and has the capacity to host 13 different sporting events simultaneously in a climate controlled arena, in addition to a full-sized indoor football pitch. Events hosted Aspire Dome was one of the venues of the 2006 Asian Games and the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships. In 2018, Aspire Dome was also the host of the 2018 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena ( ar, صالة علي بن حمد العطية), is an indoor sports arena in Doha, Qatar. It was built for the Qatar Olympic Committee, in order to host the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship. Thani Bin Jassim Stadium
The Thani bin Jassim Stadium (), also known as the Al-Gharrafa Stadium, is a multi-purpose stadium in the Al Gharrafa district of Doha, Qatar. It is currently used mostly for football matches. Al-Gharrafa SC and Umm Salal SC play there. The stadium holds 21,175 people and was built in 2003. The stadium hosted matches of the 2011 AFC Asian Cup and other international competitions. Lusail Sports Arena, also known as Lusail Multipurpose Hall, is an indoor sports arena located in Lusail, Qatar. It occupies an area of 140,000 sq m in Al Ahli Sports Village. With a seating capacity of over 15,300, it is built to host sporting events including handball, volleyball and basketball tournaments, music concerts etc. One of the largest event hosted at the stadium was the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship. Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium
Ahmad bin Ali Stadium (), popularly known as the Al-Rayyan Stadium, is an association football stadium located in the district of Rawdat Al Jahhaniya, Qatar, around northwest from the centre of Al Rayyan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and it is the home to Al-Rayyan Sports Club and Al-Kharitiyath Sports Club. The stadium is named after Ahmad bin Ali Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar from 1960 to 1972. The former stadium, built in 2003, had a seating capacity of 21,282 and was demolished in 2015. The new Al Rayyan Stadium has a seating capacity of 45,000. The stadium is located about 20 km west of Doha. The Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) is located in Gharafat Al Rayyan, on the Dukhan Highway in Doha, Qatar. The convention centre is a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development and is situated on Qatar Foundation’s 2,500-acre campus alongside the Sidra Medical and Research Center, Qatar Science & Technology Park, Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar, Texas A&M, and Georgetown University, among others.
