West End Park International Cricket Stadium
West End Park International Cricket Stadium (official name) or Al-Arabi Stadium or Asian Town Cricket Stadium is a cricket ground in Doha, Qatar. In June 2013, the ground was opened for cricket with opening of the Grand Mall Hypermarket on its premise. The stadium can seat 13,000. History West End Park is developed by the Qatar Property Management in collaboration with Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammad bin Thani Social Welfare Foundation. The sports club at West End Park project will also have a football ground, four cricket pitches for practice, four badminton and eight basketball courts. The project comprises four cinemas, an open-air Amphitheatre with capacity 14,500 seats, children's theme park, restaurants and recreational facilities. Herschelle Herman Gibbs (born 23 February 1974) is a South African cricket coach and former cricketer, who played all formats of the game for fourteen years. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). The 2020–23 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup Super League is the ongoing inaugural edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, a One Day International (ODI) league. The league is taking place from July 2020 to May 2023, and serves as part of the 2023 Cricket World Cup qualification process. The league features thirteen teams, the twelve Full Members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), and the Netherlands, who won the 2015–17 ICC World Cricket League Championship to qualify for this competition. Each team will play an ODI series against eight of the other twelve teams, four series at home and four away. Each series consists of three ODIs. Dutch Cricket Team Against Afghanistan In Qatar In 2021–22
The Netherlands cricket team toured Qatar in January 2022 to play three One Day International (ODI) matches against Afghanistan. The ODI series formed part of the inaugural 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. All three matches were played at the West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha. Prior to the series, Hashmatullah Shahidi was named as Afghanistan's ODI captain, after he had been named as Asghar Afghan's replacement. Afghanistan won the first ODI by 36 runs. Qatar T-10 Cricket League or QT10 League is a T10 cricket, T-10 franchise cricket league, a form of cricket similar to Twenty20 cricket but played over only 10 overs per side. It was founded in Doha and has six teams. The tournament is organised by the Qatar Cricket Association in assistance with International Pro Event. The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league contested during February and March of every year by six teams representing six cities of Pakistan. The league was founded on 9 September 2015 with five teams by the Pakistan Cricket Board. Instead of operating as an association of independently-owned teams, the league is a single entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors.
