2023 BAL Playoffs
The 2023 BAL Playoffs was the postseason tournament of the 2023 BAL season to determine the champions of the third Basketball Africa League (BAL) season. For a third consecutive season, the playoffs will be hosted in the BK Arena in Kigali. Al Ahly defeated AS Douanes in the final, for their first-ever BAL title. Qualified teams On 16 March 2023, the BAL incorrectly reported that REG became the first team to qualify for the playoffs. US Monastir and ABC Fighters were also reported to have qualified on 20 March. However, only on the last day of the Sahara Conference, the final ranking was determined and the four advancing teams were decided based on their head-to-head point difference. Petro de Luanda was the first team from the Nile Conference to qualify. BK Arena
BK Arena (formerly known as Kigali Arena until 2022) is an multi-purpose indoor arena in Kigali, Rwanda, used mostly for basketball and volleyball matches. Built and finished in 2019, it hosts sporting events and concerts. It is the biggest indoor arena in East Africa and is located next to the Amahoro Stadium. The arena is regularly used for games of the Rwanda Basketball League (RBL). It was constructed by SUMMA, a Turkish international contractor. 2018–19 Africa Basketball League Group C
Group C of the 2018–19 Africa Basketball League was the group stage of the 2018–19 Africa Basketball League for Al Ahly, Ferroviário da Beira, Primeiro de Agosto and REG BBC. Each team played each other once, for a total of three games per team, with all games played at the Prince Abdallah Al Faisal Sports Hall in Cairo. After all of the games were played, the two teams with the best records qualified for the final-eight round. Alkaly Mamadou Ndour (born 2 March 1997) is a Senegalese basketball player for AS Douanes and . Professional career Ndour started his professional career in 2012 when he started playing for ASCC Bopp in the Senegalse Nationale 1. In 2016, he transferred to AS Douanes. Michael Patrick Gbinije (born June 5, 1992) is a Nigerian-American professional basketball player for the Cape Town Tigers of the Basketball Africa League.
