The Inatsisartut ( kl, Inatsisartut; '' da, Landstinget, lit=''the land's-thing'' of Greenland''), also known as the Parliament of Greenland in English, is the unicameral parliament (legislative branch) of Greenland, an autonomous territory* * * in the Danish realm. Hendrik Nielsen (1 June 1942 – 4 September 2022) was a Greenlandic politician. A member of Siumut, he served on the Greenland Provincial Council from 1974 to 1979 and its successor, the Inatsisartut, from 1979 to 1991. Nielsen died on 4 September 2022, at the age of 80. The flag of Greenland ( kl, Kalaallit erfalasuat, da, Grønlands flag) was designed by Greenland native Thue Christiansen. It features two equal horizontal bands of white (top) and red (bottom) with a counter-changed red-and-white disk slightly to the hoist side of centre. The entire flag measures 18 by 12 parts; each stripe measures 6 parts; the disk is 8 parts in diameter, horizontally offset by 7 parts from the hoist to the centre of the circle, and vertically centered. Its local name in the Greenlandic language is ''Erfalasorput'', which means "our flag". The term ''Aappalaartoq'' (meaning "the red") is also used for both the Greenlandic flag and the flag of Denmark (''Dannebrog'').
