Hendrik Nielsen
Hendrik Nielsen (1 June 1942 – 4 September 2022) was a Greenlandic politician. A member of Siumut, he served on the Greenland Provincial Council from 1974 to 1979 and its successor, the Inatsisartut, from 1979 to 1991. Nielsen died on 4 September 2022, at the age of 80. Saarloq
Saarloq is a settlement in the Kujalleq municipality in southern Greenland. Its population was 21 in 2020. It is located on a small island with the same name off the Labrador Sea coast, at the mouth of the Qaqortoq Fjord, west of Alluitsup Paa and 20 km south of Qaqortoq. The settlement is the southernmost of the three settlements—along Eqalugaarsuit and Qassimiut—that made up the former Qaqortoq municipality. The settlements are presently governed by a joint settlement council. On January 1, 2009, the settlement became part of the Kujalleq municipality, when the Narsaq, Qaqortoq, and Nanortalik municipalities ceased to exist. Transport The village is served by the Saarloq Heliport. Air Greenland district helicopters link the settlement with Nanortalik, and further to Qaqortoq and Narsarsuaq. Siumut
Siumut (, ) is a political party in Greenland in the social democratic tradition. Since the establishment of home rule in 1979, it has been the dominant party in Greenland. Siumut is led by Erik Jensen, who beat the then-incumbent Prime Minister Kim Kielsen in a tight leadership contest in late 2020. Party members have been elected to both the parliament of Greenland and the parliament of Denmark. Siumut was formed in 1971 as a political movement, and became a party in 1977. The Inatsisartut ( kl, Inatsisartut; '' da, Landstinget, lit=''the land's-thing'' of Greenland''), also known as the Parliament of Greenland in English, is the unicameral parliament (legislative branch) of Greenland, an autonomous territory* * * in the Danish realm. The National Confederation of Trade Unions of Greenland ( Greenlandic: ''Sulinermik Inuussutissarsiuteqartut Kattuffiat'' or simply ''SIK'') is a trade union centre in Greenland.
