The 2022 Liga 1 de Fútbol Profesional (known as the Liga 1 Betsson 2022 for sponsorship reasons) was the 106th season of the Peruvian Primera División, the highest division of Peruvian football. A total of 19 teams competed in the season, which began on 4 February and ended on 12 November 2022. The season was originally scheduled to start on 21 January 2022, but the date was pushed back due to the detection of several COVID-19 cases in the participating clubs. Defending champions Alianza Lima won their twenty-fifth league championship in this season, defeating Melgar in the finals after losing the first leg 1–0 and winning the second leg 2–0, for a 2–1 score on aggregate. Competition format The season was divided into three stages: Torneo Apertura, Torneo Clausura, and the Playoffs. The Peru First Division (; ''First Division'') —known as Liga 1 Betsson for sponsorship reasons and officially as Liga 1 — is the top flight of association football in Peru. It has been referred to as Torneo Descentralizado since 1966, when the first teams residing outside the Lima and Callao provinces were invited to compete in the inaugural league national competition. The main sponsor is the Spanish telecommunications brand Movistar. There are 20 teams in the division of a league that operates on a system of promotion and relegation determined at the end of the season with the Segunda División and the Copa Perú. Universidad Técnica de Cajamarca (usually referred to as UTC) is the biggest Peruvian football club in the city of Cajamarca, Peru. It was founded in 1964 and play in the Torneo Descentralizado which is the top flight of the Peruvian league. 2021 Copa Perú
The 2021 Peru Cup season ( es, Copa Perú 2021), the largest amateur tournament of Peruvian football. The Regional Stage ( es, Etapa Regional) starts in October, and the National Stage ( es, Etapa Nacional) starts in November. Club Atlético Grau is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Piura, Peru. The club was founded in 1919 and play in the Liga 1 tournament. History Founding The club was founded on June 5, 1919 as Club Miguel Grau by Guillermo Herrera on ''Calle Tacna'' in Piura; next to the home where Peruvian war hero Miguel Grau Seminario was born. 2021 Liga 2 (Peru)
The 2021 Liga 2 season was the 76th edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol. The season play started on 19 May 2021 and ended on 15 October 2021. On August 19, 2021, Cultural Santa Rosa changed its name to Los Chankas. Competition format The season was divided into three stages: Fase 1, Fase 2 and the Playoffs. The Fase 1 and Fase 2 were played under the same format, a single round-robin with the 12 teams playing each other once for a total of 22 games (11 for each stage). Points earned during the Fase 1 did not carry over during the Fase 2, however, points earned in both stages generated a final aggregate table.
