2022 Davis Cup Qualifying Round
The 2022 Davis Cup qualifying round was held on 4–5 March 2022. The twelve winners of this round qualify for the 2022 Davis Cup Finals while the twelve losers will qualify for the 2022 Davis Cup World Group I. Teams Twenty-four teams played for twelve spots in the finals, in series decided on a home and away basis. Twenty-six eligible teams are: * 16 teams ranked 3rd–18th in the finals * 8 winning teams from World Group I * 2 winning teams from World Group I knock-out ties Two wild cards for the finals selected from these 26 nations are Serbia and Great Britain. The remaining 24 nations will compete for 12 spots in the Finals. The 12 winning teams from the play-offs will play at the finals and the 12 losing teams will play at the World Group I. 2022 Davis Cup Finals
The Finals, formerly known as World Group, is the highest level of Davis Cup competition in 2022. It took place from 13 to 18 September and from 22 to 27 November 2022. The ties were contested in a best-of-three rubbers format and played on one day. There were two singles followed by a doubles.The Russia men's national tennis team, Russian Tennis Federation were the defending champions, but they were banned from competing in international events following the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine. Canada men's national tennis team, Canada won the title, defeating Australia men's national tennis team, Australia in the final. It was Canada's first ever Davis Cup title. Seoul Olympic Park Tennis Center is a tennis venue in Seoul, South Korea, located in the Olympic Park. Helsingborg Arena is a multipurpose arena in Helsingborg, Sweden, run by and associated with the municipal companies Helsingborg Events and Idrottspark AB and Helsingborg Arena and Scen AB, respectively.
