2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series
The 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series was the 23rd annual series of rugby sevens tournaments for national men's rugby sevens teams. The Sevens Series has been run by World Rugby since 1999. The series was won by , claiming their first World Series title. Second-placed South Africa opened the competition by winning the first four tournaments, with a 36 match winning streak that lasted until the 2022 Singapore Sevens where they were beaten by the United States in pool play, but they did not make the semifinals in any of the remaining events. There was no relegation required at the end of the season as the number of core teams was reduced when England, Scotland and Wales were combined to play as Great Britain for the 2022–23 series. 2022 London Sevens
The 2022 London Sevens was the twentieth edition of the annual rugby sevens event held at Twickenham Stadium, Richmond, London. The tournament winners were Australia. Australia won their second London Sevens event, beating trans-tasman rivals New Zealand in a thrilling extra-time victory (19–14). Two-time back-to-back defending champions Fiji finished third, beating Pacific Island neighbours Samoa 31–26. The Stade Ernest-Wallon (; oc, Estadi Ernest-Wallon, italic=no; ) is a multi-purpose stadium located in the Sept Deniers district of Toulouse, in southwestern France. Described as a "temple to the oval ball", it is the home ground for the rugby union club Stade Toulousain and the rugby league club Toulouse Olympique. 2022 France Sevens
The 2020 France Sevens was the thirteenth edition of the annual Sevens tournament held in France. It was the first time since 2019 (; suspended due to the impact of COVID-19) that the tournament was held in France, and the first time that the event was held in the southern city of Toulouse, Haute-Garonne at the Stade Ernest-Wallon. The tournament winners were Fiji, who won their fourth France Sevens event, and their second back-to-back tournaments. Fiji won the final against first-time Sevens Series finalists Ireland 29–17. Following the event, Argentina, Ireland, Fiji and hosts France jumped up one place on the series ladder, while Samoa, who finished fourth, jumped from fifteenth to tenth. The 2022 Canada Sevens was a rugby sevens tournament for men's national teams held on 16–17 April 2022 at BC Place, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada as part of the 2021–22 World Rugby Sevens Series. The event was won by Argentina, with player of the match Marcos Moneta scoring two tries in their 29–10 win against Fiji in the final. Australia defeated Samoa with a last-minute try in their 21-19 win to take bronze in the third-place playoff.
